@@kbanikis tye wraps are your friend for this! The wire is heavy to start but gets lighter as you use it up. Buying a shorter length is also helpful is weight is a concern

You can do any job, if you take it slow, do it right the first time (because it's always harder to do re-work), and most importantly, use the right tools for the job. Too often people try to half-ass a job and then wonder why it didn't work out. Good luck with your project!

Good thorough video. Not sure if it's been said yet but, the black zip ties are made for outside use and will last a lot longer.

This is a great video. Very well thought out fence and explanation. I appreciate your attention to detail in explaining! We are going to try with some T-posts because that is what we have around the garage. It is not going to be as tidy looking, but the peas are growing and the rabbits and woodchucks are laughing at our current "rabbit" fencing, so we'll try slapping this together. Try to come back later to put some wood posts in and make it look nicer. Thanks for your work and for sharing on RU-vid!

Most do use T posts so it will probably work great. I can't drive them in due to all the rocks in my soil. And if I dig in metal posts they don't get snug.

When I'm filming he talks like he's being filmed 😂. With this fence addition he is getting his own garden bed. Going to let him grow whatever he wants in there. Should be interesting

I didn’t have a line laser bright enough to shine across my entire garden. So I secured the guide wire to the first post, then had my son hold the wire about level on the next post. I used a 4 ft level to get it perfectly level, then wrapped the wire in the next post securing it stays at the same level height. Did the all the way down post to post worked great. Great video a lot of good tips here.

I was using a 4 foot level to start. Ended up waiting until dark and using the laser.

You could've just used the laser as far as it would go, then make a mark and work from there until you got to the end.

Safety wire pliers are designed to spin wire and tighten should try those next time spin wire.

Had a great crop of green beans till big doe arrived, your "HOW TO" on chicken wire install caught my attention, always disliked this chore and have never been very satisfied with the results, your method has given me renewed interest in another try. Varmints in SE Michigan very prolific this season

Oh yea. I won't be fooled. There will be a late May frost here. Maybe early June. I just started tomatoes last night

I keep it all in buckets or pots till the ground temps is a consistent 60° my one tomato plant I left out for an experiment is a little wonky but still fruiting and has new growth. I didn't plant it I just leave the bucket out there. I trained it up my Rose of Sharon. I do the same with raspberry canes. That way I can pick fruit while harvesting flowers for the torts.

Do you use a special chicken wire fencing? Mine has completely rusted after 3 years :( I'm in zone 7b...could it be the humidity?

I've used several brands. Mine doesn't rust but it turns gray. It's actually nice when it changes. It's almost invisible without light reflecting off it. Humidity may be a factor. We get wet weather here but there's long dry spells in between
