Chief Midegah answers questions of the first interview where he introduces the similarities with their teachings compared to the Book of Mormon. And then he talks about other important historical events. He also talks about the birch bark scrolls which have existed for many years, but our schools don't teach about.

I'm a convert in the LDS church, and according to my DNA test, I'm a 75% Native American. I'm an immigrant from Central America, here in the U.S.A, something inside of me told me to look back and search farther back for my family's roots, one day, I found the Popol Vuh book or history of the Mayan's on a library stand, wich I still have on my possession. After reading it, I found that it contains similar information as the Book of Mormon, as is when our forthfathers or ancestors came to this continent crossing the big waters. Since then, I can share my testimony with you all, that the Book of Mormon is indeed a true manuscript prepared for this Generation, for the benefit of Man and their Families on this dispensation.

Chief - I hope you read this. Thank you so much for sharing this. A long time ago, I had a very good conversation with my friend from the Eastern Band of the Cherokee. He was so excited to learn that I am LDS. He shouted, "You're Mormon!!? Oh! You're the only people who BELIEVE US! We told the Christian missionaries we knew who Christ was and they told us we were lying." You are, at least in my case, a second witness to what my friend was saying years ago. I knew there had to be more tribes who know, it's just not easy to get this level of detail, or acknowledgement. I hope that one day, two things happen - you and your tribe get audience with the Brethren (as well as other tribes), and I get to meet you in person.

Midegah, my brother, I am a 9th great grandson of Amonute Matoaka "Rebecca" "Pocahontas" Powhatan through her son Thomas Pepsironemah Powhatan Rolf. My European family came to this land to Jamestown, Plymouth Rock and even Roanoke and so my family, in near totality, have been here from the start of European history in North America. When you said you were a descendant of Pocahontas my heart fairly leaped within me. During these days many of my family married into native American families. It has been very hard for me to track them because of the European names they were given. Some of them I only know as "Chickasaw Woman" and the like. Nevertheless, I have been standing on the shoulders of giants in the recording of my family and I am grateful to God for it. Some that I do know of (though these are not grandmother/grandfather lines) are Wur-Teh Gi-Yo-Sti-Ko-Yo-He Tannassee Watts of the Paint Clan, Sequoyah (George) Gist Tsis-kwa-yi who created the Cherokee written language). I am also cousin to more than half the Continental Congress and early European founding fathers, hundreds of Revolution, 1812 and Civil War soldiers (mostly Southern) and 28 cousins and uncles who died in the Alamo. I am descended from Ephraim (my blessing tribe) as well as my grandfathers Manasseh, Judah, Levi and Benjamin. Aaron, Moses brother, is another grandfather. Much of my Israel family I will not name due to the sacred nature of their names. My family comes to me through Persia, Iraq, India, Kush, Egypt and too many other lands to mention. There are no European families of the so-called nobility who are not my grandfathers/mothers, aunts, uncles and cousins. Also, surprise to me, is that Mohamed the prophet is my 45th great grandfather. Recently I heard that there is a school of thought that makes the prophet Lehi a relation to the prophet Jeremiah. If so I have found my direct line to you from the Holy Land. I was blessed to have a Navajo(Dine)/Hopi companion on my mission. My most moving experiences on my mission were had in his company. When I picked him up at the bus station he told me, first of all, that he hated white people. He also hated the BIA lol.He was angry and violent and frustrated that I would not fight with him. I told him I had never been given any right to fight him. Eventually he came to, very kindly, understand and accept my way. He gave me a silver and turquoise ring to remember him by when he went home. This is still one of my greatest treasures. His European name was David Hoycott. He told me he could not tell my his native name. Okay, so I feel that your stepping from the shadows is an answer to prayer. I am not only doing genealogy (and I don't seek it here from you) but with this prayer answered I am trying more intensely to find my direction. My younger brother, a very spiritual man, had a dream that posited that he and I would be called upon as guides to some group during the times of tribulation. He is dying of Parkinson's and I am a weak old 72 but in fairly good health though no physical specimen. We are both good outdoorsmen (he is a phenom in this regard) so we are seeking guidance from the Lord as to this dream before we are both gone. His Parkinson's is bad enough now that I will have to seek the gift of tongues to understand his speech. In his earlier life he was visited by the 3, I knew his dream before he revealed it to me. There is too much of a sacred nature to reveal so openly to the public view This has gone on long enough for an email but I would dearly love to read or hear anything you may have to say and I watch and listen with all my faculties. God bless you Midegah. You are doing an important work and your humility is greatly inspiring to one who has pursued his native affiliations and truths from his youth. Thank you from the bottom of my heart and the depth of my spirit. This last has grown lately as I lost a beloved daughter to breast cancer just weeks ago and wish to feel her near. She was and is a dear little spiritual giant and I miss her terribly. Again, God bless. George Randall King

Brother! I am Navajo/Comanche and you are right about the Whites not asking us about our history. Here in the SW archeologists say the Anasazi just disappeared. No they didn't ask a Navajo what happened to them. It's in our oral history going back 1900 years. Also, archeologists say we came from Asia through Alaska. Navajo history tells us we came from the East, the land of the rising sun and crossed great rivers(Mississippi, Missouri) to arrive in the SW. When we arrived the cliff dwellers were here in the SW already. The Anasazi came later and the Navajo and cliff dwellers killed them and drove them out of our land . In our language the old ones say, before the Anasazi, during the times of the Anasazi, and after the Anasazi. There is a distinction made here in our oral history. We have sacred ceremonies too where we are given a sacred name or ceremonial name and we cannot reveal it unless its our wife or to the medicine man conducting the ceremony. Outside the sweat lodge we cannot talk about what goes on in there or reveal our sacred name to other people. A'ho.

Reminds me of 2 Nephi 29 verse 7 Know ye not that there are more nations than one? Know ye not that I, the Lord your God, have created all men, and that I remember those who are upon the isles of the sea; and that I rule in the heavens above and in the earth beneath; and I bring forth my word unto the children of men, yea, even upon all the nations of the earth? 8 Wherefore murmur ye, because that ye shall receive more of my word? Know ye not that the testimony of two nations is a witness unto you that I am God, that I remember one nation like unto another? Wherefore, I speak the same words unto one nation like unto another. And when the two nations shall run together the testimony of the two nations shall run together also.

Those who truly read the Book of Mormon to understand are not surprised by these things. I am a white Gentile-Ephraimite member and I have known for years that the remnant of Lehi who have been “trodden under foot” will soon have their covenant with the Lord fulfilled. 3 Nephi 16 is quite clear that those with Israelite blood in America will remember the Lord and be restored in full to their covenant promises and land. The tides are shifting and the times of the Gentiles are waning.

Thank you, Chief. I have never heard of the things you spoke of today, but I am grateful that you did. I am an Australian citizen of British ancestry, but if you want to go back to the beginning then I am a descendant and daughter of Adam and Eve, and after the flood my ancestors came through Japheth, the son of Noah. I have always supported the Indian people. I have always felt that they were massacred by white man for hatred, greed, gain, and power. The injustices that have been poured out upon the native peoples of America, and other countries, are the atrocities of the power hungry, greedy, murderous, thieving white man against all of God's children, including the peaceful white man who respects all of God's children regardless of race. I am an LDS member and I love the Book of Mormon, and I am a Hearty or Heartlander. 😊❤️🙏🇦🇺

What an amazing time we live in today!! I am thrilled to see the truths finally coming out regarding the peoples that inhabited this blessed country we live in. To also learn the history of what our government did to them years ago and even up thru more recent times, just a disgrace!! I have Cherokee in my dna and possibly Iroquois but it gets difficult to find the proof. But I have many ancestors that share the connection in stories. Chief Midegah you speak powerfully with the spirit testifying of your truth! I pray for you in this journey as you stand as a witness of such a spiritual movement of learning, testifying and bringing all of us together on this path of following the Peacemaker. YES! Chief Midegah is correct about the Earth's spin! At that time, the earth was "north" of the galactic equator (actually an "electromagnetic current sheet"). Since then, we moved south and the poles flipped causing great upheaval. The evidence of this was documented by USAF Major Maynard White during Project Nanook in the 1950s. To summarize, as the Earth crosses the "equator" of the Milky Way Galaxy, the magnetic field polarity surrounding the solar system will reverse (as moving to the opposite pole of a magnet). As this occurs, the Earth's magnetic field will weaken and collapse. At the same time, the zone where the Earth's crust meets the liquid mantle will lose it's viscosity and become very plastic, effectively acting as a slipping clutch-allowing the crust to move (somewhat) independently of the core and mantle. This is a good thing because the momentum of the Earth's spin combined with the change in galactic field polarity will cause the Earth's magnetic core to invert. Because of the plasticized zone, the continents will not shift 180 degrees but still to a significant extent-by up to 90 degrees. (This explains how the Operation Nanook found tropical tree species buried under arctic ice.) It will appear to us that the stars are streaking across the sky. Continents could shift to the extent that they could form a single landmass. The oceans will "slosh" and be heaved beyond their bounds-wiping many areas clean. Because the Earth's magnetic field will not protect us from solar and space radiation (until it can re establish), Survivors of the upheaval will need to be protected from the scorching sun during the day. Many will seek shelter in caves and cracks in the earth. The latest estimated year when the Earth will travel across this threshold is 2047-but many changes will happen as that moment approaches. The prophecies of the ancient prophets will LITERALLY be fulfilled. To learn more and see relevant academic journals and papers, search, "THE Earth Disaster Documentary". The same channel posts current peer-reviewed studies that confirm the science of this upcoming cataclysm every few weeks or so.

@TrustinChrist-truthseeker 3 месяца назад
@@dylanwilliams2202do your own research. Rob Fatheringham has some excellent videos on this as well Hemlock Knots. There are serious reasons to doubt that He was, including that His teachings have been almost entirely discarded by the LDS church and his general conference talks and other statements are for the most parts ignored except for acceptable, more palatable quotes. The church has massively sanitized our history, and continues to support and protect the practice of Polygamy including dedicating entire conferences and websites to defending it. If you read through Jacob 2, and the other stories used to support it such as Abraham, Jacob, David, and Soloman, they do not support the narrative pushed by D&C 132. They in fact clash so hard that it becomes clear something is amiss. Read D&C 132 and really consider what it is saying. It would become clear from a deep dive into the history surrounding it that many of the Churchs claims regarding Joseph's Smith Polygamy are demonstrably false. It should also be known that Brigham and others who practiced Polygamy did not follow D&C 132, but in fact brushed it aside in actual use. Brigham and other apostles were taking wives while Joseph Smith made strong statements against Polygamy and Spiritual Wifery and they were doing it before that revelation even came. Those statements that Joseph made were put in force and people were excommunicated, including John C Bennet who had been part of the Q15 at the time as well as others. The narrative of "He was lying for the Lord" is directly contradicted by our examples of true prophets in the scriptures who are willing to die and be imprisoned, rather than to bury the truth and seek to hide it in secret. We also know that He was willing to follow the Lord and proclaim publicly the word of God even when it was unpopular. This directly contradicts His character. Many of the church's sources have issues with validity because most are second hand and third hand and onward, the first hand accounts of which there are next to none that were contemporary, as well as all other accounts have conflicts of interests and historical dating issues. One of the biggest ones is thst they were married at the time, or married shortly thereafter to prominent church leaders. They then also faced the threat of losing everything and being ostracized if they did not go along with the narrative.They also replaced the original D&C 101 which condemned polygamy, spiritual Wifery, and all other practices related to them with D&C 132 which came much later after Joseph had died and which also has issues with validity due to aforementioned conflicts of interest, historical inconsistencies and falsehoods, and is doctrinally inconsistent with what they were actually doing and doctrinally unsound when compared with all of the Book of Mormon and Bible. There is no good case in either book for polygamy, and is in fact condemned and shown how bad it becomes. There is a good article on this from Ancient Insights titled "Scripture forbids Polygamy". If you consider the context of those relationships, it becomes that God is not endorsing it, but is showing us why it is so bad. Jacobs example is one of great strife between His wives into who can have more children, even bringing their handmaid's into the mix to one up each other and be the favored one. We find similar stories with David, as well where we can see where it eventually leads, because there is no way to truly satisfy that lust. It just consumes and is never filled, because it is going about it the wrong way. One woman is more than enough, and is the only way a husband and wife can share all of themselves with each other, because they are not having another woman to add into the mix. That means if there was that the man is now divided between 2 people to whom he is supposed to truly become one with a d share all of himself. There is a fundamental problem as you can see! In regards to population Whitney Horning goes over this in her book "Joseph Smith Revealed" using the Utah Census from the time of the early church. Polygamous societies have less children than monogamous ones because of the aforementioned reasons as well because a married couple that is monogamous are much more likely to have more regular sex and have more children for one woman as well as have a better chance at good family relatuonships. Brigham Young for having so many wives and children, only had a little bit over 1 child per woman. He was sealed to 50 women and had only 56 children. Whereas it was not uncommon for those in a normal monogamous marriage at that time to have 8+ children in a family from only one woman. I was a die-hard fundamentalist at one point and dove deep into the talks, quotes, etc from the church leaders at the time. I truly believed D&C 132 was the word of God and that the church was under condemnation for not practicing it and that we were waiting for it to come back! I do not believe that anymore and have since then learned otherwise. It took me a year and a half to fully come around after doing a bunch of my own research and seriously studying it out with prayer, and faith in Christ, letting Him lead my study. He is the one that has anchored me in my greatest trial and He continues to do so. He is the only sure anchor, and the only one that will hold us steady in the worst and best of times. I would urge you to do the same and let Him guide and lead in this quest for the truth wherever it leads! He will be there for you, and will hold you safe in His hands as you trust and rely on Him. It requires much more than just a casual relationship with Him, but instead you have to come to truly know Him for yourself through personal interaction. The Lectures on Faith make it clear it is hard to truly have true faith in God unless you actually have a proper knowledge of Him, His attributes, perfections, and character. This can only come through a deep serious study of the scriptures and through yearning to truly know Him, and by interacting with Him. You have to be willing to give your all to Him! I hope this helps you understand why someone might believe what you called a "pseudo historical narrative" and why it might in fact have some serious basis in fact. Sincerely, Your brother in Christ, JS

I love listening to your history and in some cases parallels. I was raised in an LDS home and had read the Book of Mormon. When I was in an early history class, I looked forward to hearing more about the history of the Native American tribes prior to the coming of the Europeans. I was very disappointed that they didn't teach anything about them other than about general Woodland culture. I used to wonder where are the pyramids in North America--? Surely, the ancient people here were just as bright. Of course, now I understand that what was known about the previous civilizations' accomplishments has been suppressed, and of your history, it was never inquired of or believed. I love hearing the stories of your people. I've since picked up bits and pieces about migrations and such from books here and there. But this information is priceless and fulfills a long desire.

I was told about Joseph Smith and the Native American Indians 60 years ago. Most people in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints know - and there are a lot of them in the world, so we understand what you are talking about, and even the talk on your history makes sense to me and would be accepted by the other members. Something monumental happened to our pre-columbian brothers and sisters that still echoes in their cultures and spirituality to this day. In my opinion, only the teachings and miracles of the Savior could have such lasting, penetrating influence. Their posterity still know that it happened and is real. Several years ago, I went to the Amazon with a couple of archaeologists and a guide; went right into a native village on a Cultural exchange. I spoke with the chief of the village, who said he knew some relatives were coming. We were given access to interview certain tribal members. Myself Being a female and direct descendant of a native Chief I can go to a native village and request an audience with the Chief and must be allowed to be able to speak. Eventually a representative of the Department of Native affairs for the country we were visiting showed up. They re quested to see our credentials and asked how come we had not obtained a government permit prior to entering the village; whereupon the archaeologists responded by presenting me to the government agent. Suddenly I found myself being invited to attend a treaty meeting down south; which invitation ai declined; explaining I was a good will ambassador in a cultural exchange and not there to interfere in government tribal affairs

I’m curious to know what the thoughts are from the Chief about the people of Jared that came much earlier to the Americas. I keep finding very old things left behind by some of these people. They left the really ancient monuments of stone stone behind, among other things. They were the stone bowl makers and copper miners and hunted with the white arrow tips. The archaeologists call them the archaic people because they can’t figure out who they were.

The first time I read the book of Mormon after baptism in 1978, I asked the Bishop if all the American Indian people, the Lamanites and Nephites, were now benefiting by the church being so prosperous in Utah with no homeless, no hungry people, no poverty at all. All prospering because of the message of the BofM. And all I got was a stunned look. He had no idea. Stake presidency, no idea. That was my first shock-horror moment in the LDS church. The way he is describing the history seems to resemble the Jaredites, rather than the Lehite history, though it seems the Lehites are a group that was interacted with. It would be interesting to hear him lay the entire chronology out as much as its able to be articulated, and what events he thinks are connected to major events in the Book of Mormon, since he thinks that is the case. He indeed needs to write a book that codifies the information on those scrolls that the other Elders, Chiefs and Medicine Givers would be willing to allow us "white" people to read.

@@franciegwin I have, for the most part, considered the Heartlanders to be well intentioned but incorrect in their assertions, since the evidence they've presented rarely passed muster. Much of their most provocative claims have been those surrounding Jewish or Latter-Day Saint-like beliefs and customs among the Anishinaabe peoples. Much of it had the quality of heresay, since no First Nations people would corroborate the claims and present evidence. Chief Midegah is forcing me to reconsider, and the fact that there is a whole writing system that seems to have been hidden this entire time, is changing my mind. If he can present well curated and cogent evidence, as well as rally the support of other Elders, Chiefs and Medicine Givers, then he could settle this once and for all simply by the weight of testimony. The most evocative of his assertions essentially reverts our conceptions back to the so-called "hemispheric" model, by his claim that "his people" consist of the entirety of the Americas. While the Book of Mormon itself may have had a limited geography for its recorded events, it may also have been the case that the people of the Book of Mormon really did inhabit the entirety of at least North America. I need to hear more, and I hope this doesn't just disappear, like similar things have in the past. I hope he can gain support and rally evidence and translations of those scrolls. If the Anishinaabe people have a recorded history, whether it confirms the Book of Mormon or not, it needs to be told.

Thank you Chief Midegah. I am a physician. I do not have any Native American blood. My family are mostly Scandinavian ancestry. I was born into the Lutheran faith, due to my ancestry. Then my father led us into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. [We are converts]. In my earlier years I was taught that Native Americans were descendants of the House of Israel. Then DNA was advanced to have each of us find our ancestry. Then we learned that our Nucleic DNA is 1/2 mother and 1/2 father. We can find that the Y chromosome identifies our biological father lines. But we found that we all have other DNA, and that DNA is found in an organelle in the cell cytoplasm, called mitochondria. In the mitochondria, that DNA is 100% mother. None is our father. Then we learned that mitochondrial [mt]DNA was compared to other peoples around the world. We categorized mtDNA in Native Americans into 4 "Haplogroups" A,B,C, and D. Yet none of these "Haplogroups" have been found in Israel. Only found through out Asia. So it looked like Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon was a hoax. Suggesting there were no Native "Nephites nor Lamanites" descendants from Israel. Then in time, scientists found a 5th Haplogroup among Native Americans. Scientists gave this Haplogroup the letter X. This Haplogroup is limited and found strongest in Ojibwe [Chippewa] people. It is also a Haplogroup strongly found in Israeli people, not Asia. Genetically, your people are not related to other Native Americans, but uniquely related to Israel. Haplogroup X also occurs in Hurons, Ottawa and Mohawks. And to a lesser amount in Sioux Natives that encircle the Great Lakes. [People who speak Algonquin languages] But the Ojibwe have the largest amount. You are NOT genetically related to any South American Native Americans or Asia. But you are more closely related to Jews. WOW. I find that interesting. DNA does not lie. You are a special people. You are telling the truth. Thank you for sharing your knowledge You are smart.
