The black marks on Danys' neck and hand were put on for extra effects and done as a last minute idea that they had .They had alot of trouble composing this song , hence the name " Ugh " , but because of that , two more songs were born out of this song , namely "The one" and "The sacrifice " so it turned out to be an important song on the album .Good to see you back man.
UGH.. The Banger that almost wasn't. Dany is wearing war paint for this show. QOTMS is one of the best concept LP's ever made and was wrote, composed, and performed by 3 teens. Once you get thru this entire show, and do each song in order as the story unfolds, it all makes sense. 4 chapters, each with 3 songs. #HBDany 🎉
"Ugh" roars out of the tunnel and hits like a freight train after "Crimson Queen"! The contrast is startling, even disorienting, and we are then primed for what's to come!
They just did four shows in Mexico opening up for Muse. The band they always wanted to open up for.Monterrey, Guadalajara and two shows in Mexico City in front of 50,000 plus people.Dreams do come true. And Happy 23rd Birthday to Dany today. And they are scheduled to play in Germany in June at am rock ring and rock I'm park.
The more you listen to this album the more you realize how absolutely brilliant it is. I'm torn between hoping one day it gets the world wide recognition it deserves, to wanting to keep it private for just TWA. I'm not sure Dany, Pau, and Ale understand what a masterpiece they created. Today is Dany's birthday so shout out to her on this special day.
Same, on the best kept secret fence. I think you're right about DPA not realizing how truly great QOTMS is. As we all know, its a genuine masterpiece, worthy of worldwide acclaim.
I get what you mean, I also am uncertain, if it might be better, to keep them away from a wider recognition and especially "fame". There are so many imponderables on that way, I'm afraid of what might happen with them or their surrounding. But I would suggest to trust in their farsightedness to chose the pass thats best for them. And whats best for them is best for us, I would predict.
Just so you know, the rest of the album is much like this. The sadness tastes like yesterday, and time won't take the pain away. So many brilliant lyrics on this album it's like they have an understanding of someone who's lived a full life. Thanks a bunch. These girls are just aware of so much. It's crazy.
The more I listen to.this whole album, the more I like it. I was not a big fan of this song the first time, but now it is top three on this album. Guitar is amazing.
Its fun to watch you geek out, and struggle to explain just why. Not because I am taking joy in your inability to find the right words, but because I felt the exact same way about this album. My initial reaction to it was a simple… damn….I had no other words.
in 'Ugh', the girl's obsession is clearly growing and is consuming her. She is afraid of what she is becoming and feels she is sinking down into a trap.
Even when you’ve heard and seen these songs so many times there are little things you pick up on. These girls are true artists and dare I say musical savants. The songwriting is truly second to none in my opinion. Many songwriters have a hit the put on their mantle. There are so many that Pau could put on her mantle that she would need a 100’ mantle. I love Dany’s “warpaint” in this video
Great reaction - and good for you and us that TW has 46 originals songs in their catalog. QOTMS is a fantastic concept album, Today, is Dany 23rd birthday (TW first album is called XXI Century Blood because all the ladies are born in that century)
A Nice reaction As stated below the black marks symbolizes the inner struggle between the queens good and bad side. I do not want to give anything away
@@rockchickliz2603 If you love this song I think you'll love the closeups in this video. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yV8gpIrIR9s.html
God her voice reminds me of Joan Jett... Speaking of...I think we've got to get some Halestorm into the reaction pool. Because... 1. The Warning were on tour with Halestorm (and The Pretty Reckless) last summer. 2. Lzzy Hale ALSO has some Joan Jett qualities to her singing. 3. Because Halestorm is awesome and it's a blast to listen to Arejay Hale's drumming. (Yes...he's Lzzy's brother.)
Dany, the guitarist/vocalist has a great interview where she talks about their songwriting and how they write from an inner emotional standpoint and from how they perceive others outward emotions. The interview is titled "Heavy New York// The Warning// Interview" and was taped during the Aftershock festival.
QOTMS is, arquably, the finest concept album. You said rollercoaster more than once, and that is 'the' word for this album. With a deeper dive into the lyrics, which comes with a few listens, and the help of insights from both the band and some astute fans, you will be awestruck by the cohesiveness of the writing of this "rock novel", as Pau declared it. buckle up, and keep your hands and feet in the car. It's a WILD ride.
Great reaction as always Chief. That riff sounds excellent with the tone of that Manson guitar. To come up with this masterpiece of a concept album at the ages they were at the time (13, 16 and 18 I think) is incredible.
Awesome song and reaction. It’s great to see a reactor who is not only loving a song, but also emotionally invested. I only found your channel a couple of weeks ago but can see that this is not a one-off for you-that emotion. You’ve quickly moved to the top of the reaction channels I watch (and there are a ton)!
They really seem to have a great sense of when to mix things up. Whether it's a tempo shift, a key change, adding a note here, going up an octave on the vocals there, it's like they're perpetually aware that their instrumentals are relatively simple, so they would get stale fast if they didn't constantly tweak the sound while still having a cohesive song (and while still building to big moments and then dropping the hammer - the half time after the big vocal moment in this song always hits harder than a 3 piece should be able to hit).
UGH: what a good voice of Dany, great solo, excellent bass line and Pau one of the best drum line of Pau, what a good song from the QOTMS concept album, according to TW his most complicated song to compose, that's why it's called UGH
excelente reacción para tan poderosa canción... sigue adelante y te encontraras con mas canciones hermosas y poderosas!!! THE WARNING presente y futuro del ROCK!!!⚡⚡🤘🤘
QOTMS es una obra musical que te cuenta una historia. Dany es la representación de la protagonista de la historia. Y realmente sientes que vives la historia que te está contando Dany, en cada uno de sus pasajes. La mejor obra conceptual que he escuchado en este último tiempo.
and the album only gets better and better from here. this is truly a masterpiece of songwriting and composing and deserves a much bigger audience than it has gotten.
Happy Birthday Dany! I have a different favorite song a lot but I always come back to Ugh. This is probably my favorite performance of probably my favorite song. Lol, if that makes any sense
The song they referred to as "Ugh" because it was one of the most difficult if not the most difficult for them to compose. It's kind of a Frankenstein composition since they took pieces of other, rejected songs and drew together to make this. Parts that were intended for this song were rejected only to become parts of yet other songs on the album. When it came time to officially name the song they couldn't think of anything better than what they had already begun to call it, hence the name "Ugh". Also, it is a bit of a workout for them when they play it. There are instances in the past when teenagers have composed compelling music. In every case they have always been musical geniuses.
The songs evolve into a new meaning once you get into what the story is and understand the lyrics. I am still processing it...then I shall start again 😀💥⚠️🎸🇲🇽⚡🤘🔥🌎
I'm loving your journey through this story. It's a freakin' roller coaster. It's like five years later and I'm still blown away with the composition, the emotional content, the performance - holy crap, the performance. If I ever get a time machine I'm gonna go back to November 2018 and sneak into this show, I tell you what. And fans at the time said that they were struggling a bit during this show because they didn't have time to acclimate to Mexico City's 7000 ft elevation ... you mean they can do BETTER?!?! I'm sorry you missed them at Aftershock, but I saw them 4 times in California this year and I was blown away each time.
I have watched this Queen of the Murder Scene concert many times and it always amazes me. The story delves into obsession, murder, and madness. These are three young sisters here (18, 16, and 13 years old). They put the whole thing together in their basement.
It's also important, when watching this concert, to pay attention to the graphics on the screen behind them. They are directly related to the themes of the story, and specific elements presented in each tune.
Great reaction Chief. This was from a show in 2018. The link below is the entire show. It starts with them leaving a hotel. Music starts around 10 minutes in. It's a fantastic video and I think you will enjoy it. The girls change when they hit the stage and I think Ale stuffed a bull frog in her bass. Keep an ear on that bass from a 13 y/o. Happy 23rd Dany ! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9VciU3gMMUY.html
The ladies said this was the hardest song on the album to write. It took much longer than expected and after several weeks they had very little of it done. Their Dad sat them do as n and told them to get back in the cave and just finish it. The response was "Ugh" . They now had a title and a chorus! Thanks Dad.
Pau goes from driving the song until the very end, where she then gets behind the beat, and lets it run down. One of my favorite performing drummers up there with Neil Smith and Clem Burke . Team Pau !!!
I really enjoyed your reaction and your passion for my favorite band. I believe the black lines depict scratches. Dany is the Crimson Queen throughout the entire performance of the album. I don't want to give anything away, but there is a likely explanation why she has scratches later in the album.
This is a fantastic version for Dany footage, but Ugh, live from the Rebel Lounge has better Pau footage, for the ride bell dings, and her emphasizing certain words in the lyrics. Also, there are no casual Warning fans. They turn everyone into crazy cat ladies.
Dany is the "Queen". Her vocals are the mad women. Pau's solo vocals are the sane part left of her. The marks are slashes. It may be better if you do a chapter at a time. 3 songs.
