I want the Chiefs to score every time they hit the red zone, but if that defense keeps holding teams to 16 points per game, then all you need is a TD or 2 and some FGs to ice the game. If any other team were winning this way, I don't think people would have a problem with it. For some reason, if KC isn't dropping 35 on your head, like the 2018 Chiefs did, then it's not really a "good" win. It's weird.

It’s because they want to hold chiefs to the standard that for the first few years they had, which was blazing offense and mediocre defense, but now that they are the reverse with a good offense, but a fantastic defense everybody thinks that they aren’t a contender because they aren’t scoring 40 points a game. I think it’s more about wanting to attack Mahomes. I mean clearly they have enough offense to be able to play great even with that defense because there’s no spectacular offense in the AFC right now and they have the perfect cold weather team.

As a Chiefs fan since coming to KC in 2002, it's just wierd. I remember scoring 40+ and still losing. This having a for real top 5 defense is still something we are getting used to.

Against Miami they were never in doubt but if their defense had played 5% less great all year they had a loosing record by 3-4 games. keep telling yourself you were never in doubt of kc this year bud

I love how coach is talking about Mahomes not playing great and then he wants to talk about the goat like Tom Brady ever put up Mahomes numbers or even close consistently. What’s funny and makes the coach look hypocritical is that Mahomes looks more like Tom Brady in these games just letting the team and the great defense carry him, and all he has to do is make the plays when he needs to . The problem is that Mahomes has been so spectacular in his career that people expect more from him than they have ever expected from any other quarterback, and when he does not live up to that billing for one season, then they think he’s not playing great.

⁠@@renecerdas9395 the fact is they put up almost 30 points and didn’t turn over the ball in negative degree weather. Nick is right this is the scariest Chiefs team because they don’t need Mahomes to play fantastic every game to be able to win games with that awesome defense. They should probably be the Super Bowl favorites right now. They are at least as good as anybody when it comes to making the Super Bowl. It’s just funny hearing them talk about it. The game was wrapped up by the fourth quarter. I’d say 26 points and basically 3 1/2 quarters is pretty great especially in that weather. Yeah coach and Broussard are being very disingenuous. Coach is being more disingenuous though, because he always praised Brady for doing the right play and doing what was best for the team.

If the defense can hold the opponent all Mahomes needs to do is drive down the field and get within field goal range, l they don't see this as a team win especially if your opponents defense can't stop the drive regardless

What the dolphins need to do is draft a tight end to feature in this offense to add size, physicality, and a change of pace weapon to move the sticks and be a safety valve. And I mean a primary feature not just a 3rd down or short yardage guy. Tua is great inside the numbers so it would suit his game well and it would help take attention away from Tyreek and Waddle

The Chiefs won the game in a very Brady like fashion and had more yards than the Dolphins average allowed all season in a game that was playing on solid ice and windchills at -30, there was nothing "mid" about that game

@@TDR-0484he’s not entirely wrong. Mahomes gets plenty of excuses. Been seeing it all year that he’s been bad because the WRs have been bad. Now I won’t lie they haven’t been great. Neither Kelce has been great but for whatever reason Mahomes and Kelce are the last to be blamed or held accounted when they definitely are part of the issue. Allen has quite a few dropped passes let alone TD passes but I don’t see it talked about as much as Mahomes’s drops. Even Tua has a good amount of drops but the media is shitting on Tua right now.

@@larry2281 Its one thing to have a few dropped passes per game... but when you lead the league like the Chiefs did and by an extremely wide margin, you are given graces that other quarterbacks simply don't. Has your team ever lost a game because a ball carooned through a receiver's hand and the defense returns it for a pick 6? It's one thing to be an inaccurate quarterback, sure. But it's another thing where your receivers constantly put the ball on the ground. He also finished top 8 in total yards despite all that. Remember, the AFC West spent nearly a half billion dollars to stop Mahomes and it only got him a Superbowl and a couple of divisional titles. That's tough.

The only argument you could make is that Brady would have gotten the DPI calls that were ignored and wouldn't have had a touchdown stolen for no reason. I'd agree with that.

The irony in saying “I didn’t see anything great” yet Tom Brady in the Super Bowl vs us couldn’t score in the red zone until the refs gave him multiple chances.. and he threw for all of 209 yds.. when his defense was the reason they dominated because chiefs had 3 lineman out.. We're still in that phase where if Mahomes doesn't throw for 400+ yards and score 5 touchdowns, the win wasn't impressive. If he wins with hall of fame receivers, then they say it's because he had help. If he wins with nobodies at receivers, then he still didn't do enough. He's doing what he needs to do and not letting his defense down when they're playing lights out.

No he doesn’t. There are well over a dozen QB’s who have had more arm talent and throwing strength than Brady, that’s never been in question. Brady is the greatest to ever play the position because he was impossibly clutch in all the big moments, the most clutch athlete to play in any sport ever. That’s why he has 7 Super Bowls, including leading a franchise that was a perpetually losing team to a Super Bowl. Mahomes has never demonstrated to have the intangibles of Brady and hasn’t accomplished and has a long way to go. He could start by playing well in a Super Bowl for the first time in his career

Madden had to add to the game because Mahomes played so well in the Super Bowl that people wanted to pretend to be him. You live under a rock or something? Clutch? Mahomes has a winning record when down by 10 (Brady does not). Like I could go on man, because everything you've said they literally put video on TV to disprove it. However, if you can manage to watch the NFL and then say what you just said, no amount of evidence is going to change your mind. You've already fully moved to fantasy land.

The Chiefs take what the defense gives them on offense. Don’t go for 4th downs and just take the field goals. That’s why they are winning. Not trying to do too much on offense.

Oh to live in that glorious moment in time between Mangini's 'sure Mahomes does lots of showboat stuff and wins everything, but it's too easy. I need to see him face 'real' adversity' . . . and . . . Was that the only one that saw Travis Kelce dropped those balls and one of them could’ve been a touchdown? I feel like I’m living in a completely different world than coach. He’s calling out Patrick Mahomes, because these guys are dropping passes. But you know who he’s not gonna call out? Let’s see the analysis of the Buffalo versus Pittsburgh game. I bet you since the bar is set solo. He’s gonna praise Josh for not throwing any interceptions. And he’s gonna say he had pretty much perfect game. Patrick had two horrible passes at the beginning of the game, I’m pretty sure they were his first two passes. After that point, I think he hit every single receiver in the hands. But they just kept dropping the ball. And I used to believe it was automatic when he threw to Travis, now, not so much. He keeps dropping her down balls, and he dropped the ball on like the 7 yard line where he could’ve easily stiff armed the defender for a touchdown after the catch. I mean it’s the point now that Patrick runs the ball on third down because he has no faith in his receivers to catch it on third down.

Here we go the yea but. Lol keep doubting the chiefs. We only had 188 yards to wide receivers last year in the playoffs and won the superbowl. This year we have the 2nd ranked defense with the same folks playing wide out without ju ju but I'll take rice over him anyway. You can tell who watches the chiefs and who doesn't with these media people. It's obvious
