Summary of his career: absurd amount of hate for someone who was the MVP favorite prior to injury and is/was better and had a better career than tons of others
Factz had it not been for his MVP season till he got hurt we woulda never made it to that Super Bowl without home field advantage! Foles couldn’t have won some of them games on the road!
Skip's hate of Wentz stems simply from him being an Eagle and getting Philly in position to make a Superbowl run. It's actually laughable that he would say Dak has had a better career than Carson Wentz...Wentz has taken his team into the playoffs just as far as Dak has...
@@kwill215 wentz has a Superbowl. And he didn't play in it but when he went out he's the one who had the team in position he didn't just sit back and do nothing. Dak has had a more steady career but has no rings. And has gotten his team as far as wentz had
@gunut89 so which career would you prefer today? Wentz or dak? Happy for Carson winning that ring but his backup literally has that superbowl Mvp AND a statue outside the stadium lol
@@7thswordsmenofthemist That turnover prone narrative is still strong, but he actually had only one double figure interceptions season after his rookie season (it was the catastrophic 2020 season when he lost his job in Philly, but also played with basically a practice squad offense).
Wentz was the man in 2017 and I loved him on the Eagles and the injury hurt many of the fans. The injury may have had a psychological effect on him. He wasn't the same since that injury. He still has some skill, just not sure how he reacts. He played with the Colts, Commanders and Rams and it didn't work out. I hope that he can regain some of that glory.
Carson wentz has 0 playoff wins 62 fumbles is 9-25 vs teams over 500 has no heart and no desire to win has started 5-6 in 4 of his first 5 seasons Makes everyone around him significantly worse colts made playoffs year before wentz missed playoffs with him redskins 2-6 with wentz 6-2 with same roster without him. Eagles have won 7 playoff games since 2018 without him.
Yoo is this guy a real wentz hater i feel like ever since 2019 this comment or similar comments as popped up same copy and paste comment on every wentz video like bro let the man breathe 🤣🤣
he played well w the colts and was def a top 10-15 qb that season but it was just the mistakes and that week 18 game against jacksonville. imo the colts shouldve given him at least 1 more year to try things out again. Commanders were just messed up as they were, he played one really good game on the rams in week 18 but idky the rams decided to release him.
As a Rams fan, this hurts because I don't understand. I believe he was a solid backup quarterback behind Matthew Stafford. I know it was just one game, and many people are going to say it was against the 49ers backups, but he showed something and displayed a lot of potential out there. Then we go sign Jimmy Garoppolo, 🤦♂️which I still don't understand, and I'm still upset about I'd rather have Carson Wentz. I just don't understand it.
Why do people equate the time it takes Carson to sign to having no takers? Maybe he has an opinion as to who he wants to play with and for and how much he wants to earn. He has every right to his due diligence in finding the best situation for him and his family.
Carson Wentz is not horrible and he would’ve been the NFL MVP in 2017 had he not gotten hurt. I actually think this is a really good move for both sides.
Stop Carson wentz has 0 playoff wins 62 fumbles is 9-25 vs teams over 500 has no heart and no desire to win has started 5-6 in 4 of his first 5 seasons Makes everyone around him significantly worse colts made playoffs year before wentz missed playoffs with him redskins 2-6 with wentz 6-2 with same roster without him. Eagles have won 7 playoff games since 2018 without him.
Wasn’t suprised by this signing at all. I was actually more suprised tjat Philly didnt go after him instead. Both teams NEED a good backup, incase their stud misses a little time, and carson needs a new team to prove that he can still be a starter.
When Skip creates a narrative about someone it’s engraved in stone and it doesn’t matter what you do it will never change, even if you win MVP it still won’t change!!!
Once skip thinks of you a certain way. He will never change his mind. He still raves about baker’s Cleveland run. He still has the same thoughts about lebron that he had in year 15. He’s a hard headed old man
@@787BigZ Every player same take year after year sound like a recorder , same take verbatim Shannon got tired of it and Keyshawn almost lost on him a few times
Unfortunately, after the injuries he WAS NEVER THE SAME........ As a Lifelong Eagles fan w/o him we NEVER make it to the Super Bowl. ST. NICK navigated us through the playoffs and the CHIP. Thankful for Carson.💯 Shame how his career has went........ BET he's HUMBLE NOW.
Yeah he played awful. Was playing decent up until thale last two games that season. He seemed good as a backup last season though. Maybe it's better that he don't have the spotlight
Skip reminded me of why we should respect analysis today. In what they say even though they never played. The greatest people in the sport is if you have a high mix of play and mental awareness. Being able to understand is so underrated while playing.
How did they say Dak and Jared Goff are about equal, and then the next sentence they said Jared has brought his team further with 2 different teams. Shiiiiii I'd take Jared Goff allllllllll dayyyyyyy
Could become a good backup QB. That knee and back injury took him out of starter jobs. He doesn't have that 2017 athletic ability anymore. However he looked solid for the Rams week 18
Nothing wrong with Wentz as your back up. You hope your back up never has to get on the field but there are a lot worse options than Wentz if you need someone for a couple games
I think the Chiefs will utilize him in a way that will be beneficial. We shall see. He's certainly not a terrible QB2. I think some folks might be surprised.
Before he went to the Washington shitshows his last season, he threw 27 touchdowns and eight interceptions he can play. He is just weak minded when he has competition in the quarterback that’s his only fault.
@@gotbeefwiththeworld no not really what I’ve seen is the guy had 2 solid wrs , a good running back , good tight end , good coach . The oline got a little bit worse but the guy got more than most qbs get and can’t win big games
That's such played out bs from 2019. That all stemmed from a few Eagles players who had a problem with him not "connecting" with them or being withdrawn after he got injured. He's a religious true believer. He probably wouldn't connect well with most types in the locker room.@@123shoshan
Hes a shoulda coulda woulda if he would have stayed healthy that year and won MVP we wouldnt be talking sbout jalen hurts but this is a good backup hes never getting playing time tho
Carson would’ve been one of the best if he didn’t get hurt in that game he was never the same but I will always give him credit for getting us to the superbowl
As an Eagles fan I think Andy Reid knows Patrick is gonna miss a couple games and woogie can back him up for 2-3 games. Same reason they gave punt god, and when he gave Vick a second look.
Ryan Tannehill was able to turn his career around.. see some big success. I see no reason why Carson cant have that opportunity. Mannnnn Baker just got his second wind. Geno Smith got his second wind. Sam Darnold potentially might get a second wind.
One of the biggest mistakes in Philly history was picking Wentz over Foles. People can talk about how Foles didn't succeed elsewhere and say "well Foles would have failed at Philly" he had the full backing of the entire team unlike Wentz and Foles felt like a true leader. He should have stayed and its a shame.
This is an idiotic yet classic casual fan take. The team has literally been to a Super Bowl since they let Foles go lol Foles had a nice run but in no way was he a franchise QB. Hindsight is 20/20..but if we keep it in context..during that time when that decision was made Wentz had just come back from the knee injury (which he rushed)..and still had a lot of promise AT THE TIME.
