Child Life @ Home: Preparing Kids for Surgery 

Follow along at home as Child Life Specialist, Jaime, shows kids how they can use a medical doll or stuffie to prepare for surgery.
Adults should always supervise children using craft materials. Plus; it's a good idea for parents and caregivers to learn about the general steps of paediatric surgery, too!
For this activity you will need: a medical doll or stuffie, markers, paper, scissors, tape, and a medical play set OR a few things from around the house.
For the homemade version, try:
Upside down headband + yarn/ribbon + cardboard cutout circle = Stethoscope
Popsicle stick + red coloured line OR chop stick = Thermometer
Toilet paper roll (cut lengthwise) + yarn/ribbon + play dough = Blood Pressure Cuff
Clothes pin + red coloured dot =Pulse Oximeter
Clear plastic cup OR cut 2L bottle top covered with tape OR cupcake liner =Anaesthesia mask
