What’s happening in this movie clip?
In the doll factory, Chucky (Brad Dourif) performs a ritual to possess Andy's body. However, this does not work because it is too late. Chucky has spent too much time in the doll's body and is therefore trapped there. Kyle (Christine Elise McCarthy) arrives and drops boxes on Chucky, giving her and Andy time to run.

Chucky has only ever been depicted in cgi in the 2019 remake which is not a part of the overall saga. Every modern installation aside from the remake depicts chucky using an animatronic, puppeteering or the use of short actors.

I love Brad Dourifs voice acting in this movie more than ever. Hes not a silly comedian. Hes a dangerous psychopath trapped in the body of a doll. And i think Chucky looks more real and menacing than ever in this movie. When Chucky says, "Hows it hangin, Phil?" That is some of the best dialogue ive seen a puppet deliver since Yoda.

This scene really made me fear for Andy’s safety. In this and the first movie the only reason Chucky didn’t just get rid of him was because we needed his body but in this scene he cannot do that anymore and now has nothing to lose so he’s free to do whatever he wants to Andy now.

Kyle truly is bad ass how she saves him from Chucky. "Andy Run!!" But I find it funny how Chucky freaks out, and yells, "NOOOOO!" and than once the boxes fall on top of him. "What the hell?!!" It makes me laugh every single time. You can honestly hear how desperate Chucky is and wants his spell to work but it's already too late. Kyle is honestly a sweetheart when she asks if Andy is okay, she's such a caring and supportive character. The more I watch this scene when their trying to get out of the maze of Chucky dolls surrounding them, all I think of is The Shining. 2:35

I've always gotten such a kick out of Chucky's high-pitched "WHAT THE HELL!?". The poor guy is trapped in a doll, he's just realized that he's condemned to live that "life" forever, and now a pile of himselves are suddenly being thrown at him. His angry shriek at the sheer lunacy of his situation is both understandable and hilarious.

I just now realized how many times the rules of body snatching change in the Chucky movies and show. No exactly, Chucky thinks in this movie that Andy will be killed if he possessed his body, but in Cult Of Chucky, when he possessed Mica's body and Andy point her with a gun he said "You kill me and you kill her, think about it", so Mica soul is still in her body but Chucky has the control now or maybe Chucky was lying to Andy in order to not get shot, who knows.

@@Resterminador i think the reason is chucky carved his soul into pieces. So he wouldn't be able to completely remove nicas soul like he would have Andy's. I also think he's setting himself up for failure. Soul fragments will have their own experiences that are different from eachother. He might end up warring with himself down the line. The pieces will start to act autonomous of eachother

I think its crazy how at this moment, Chucky is furious he wasted too much time trying to get the spell to work and it still takes him literally 2 other movies to come to the conclusion that being a possessed doll actually has way more benefits that he never originally considered. For one thing, the spell can be reused multiple times with little to no downside and he can transfer his subconscious into multiple objects which helps him cope with this permanent lifestyle change Imagine a low IQ serial killer thru trial and error accidentally discovering the key to psuedo immortality and reincarnation

Ah back when the series actually had consistent rules, and had a generally scary vibe. I wish I could love the TV series as much as other seem to, but for me it's just as bad as seed. Turned the whole series into a joke. This one is truely a classic though. Dourif just had the role mastered here.

What would have happened if Chucky had done the ritual in time to turn Andy evil? How would things have gone differently?

@Jac2Mac If Chucky succeeded in possessing Andy, then Andy would have had Chucky inside him while Andy acting evil and there wouldn't have been a "Child's Play 3" and on "Bride Of Chucky" when Chucky saw his girlfriend Tiffany he would have said "Tiff, it's my Chucky inside, I possessed a young kid by the name Andy Barclay."
