I listened to my first Bodom song when I was 16 years old. I believe it was Lake Bodom and I instantly fell in love with the band. I'm 26 today and I managed to see them live, once, back in April 2019 in Boston, literally a dream coming true for me. They've helped me during these 10 years to cope with loneliness, depression, sadness and happiness. They will always have a special place in my heart and I wish all the members all the best ! COBHC forever 🤘

One of my fondest memories from Children Of Bodom is when I was around 10 years old, COB was the first more extreme metal band I got to know after listening to Stratovarius and Sonata Arctica. The album Hatebreeder had just been released and my big brother bought it, and I used to listen to it with my cousin all the time and we had floorball sticks as our guitars as we rocked with the music :D Those were the first years of my heavy metal journey :) I'm gonna buy a ticket to their show in Oulu to see them for the last time with this lineup, hope there are some left when I get my paycheck 🤞

The ending is beautiful. I got a reflection somehow on Faith No More’s ”Epic” ending. I asked about Henkka about it and he thought a moment and said that, ”Man! You are right! The is a lot of same, never thought about it!”

Talking about losing shoes. Once there was a festival here in Finland that had metal a lot, nowadays... almost just pop (which sucks for me). CoB was performing and no, I didn't lose a shoe, but I lost my friend. Found him the next day since we had two day tickets. There was no cell reception, so next day it was "yo, did you have a good day?" "yup" "me too". So it's a fact, you can lose almost anything you can see in a CoB gig. :)

funny you guys are always talking about the pits at bodom. especially during the needled 24/7 song..... i saw them twice... back in the early mid 2000's at the masquarade in atlanta georgia...and til this day it has also been one of the most memorable shows i've attended..... the 2nd time i saw them they were touring with evergrey and iced earth (ripper owens era) awesome show! and i will never forget.... my friend joey and i were in the center near the pit area.... and when they started playing needled 24/7...we both felt a huge gust of wind...look back behind us and see the biggest most chaotic pit i have ever seen.....lol at the time all of us had a strictly hetero crush on alexi and his beautiful blonde feathered wolf hair...ha so honored i got to see them with the original lineup..and during their prime.. coming fresh off their hatecrew deathroll album and still doing a lot of their older stuff...follow the reaper being my fav album of theirs i was stoked that played a lot of songs off that album. so wassails and a cheerful toast with my homeslices A&P to the Finnish Hatecrew of lake Bodom!!! Cheeers!!

The news of them breaking up really got me, been listening to them for the past 10 years and easily became one of my favorite bands. Got the chance to see them live in 2011 but they were supporting Megadeth that night so most of the people weren't there for CoB, as I was. Then waited all the time after until today for them to come back to my country for a solo concert but never happened. Wish they could take some time off from CoB and do separate stuff until they can work things out, but reading stuff online it seems that's just a dream. My memory of that concert was a purple toe for months after some dude with metal boots stepped up over my shoe while in the mosh pit lol

I remember when I heard CoB for the first time. Someone sent me Hate Me over MSN. I fell in love instantly... the cheesy and upbeat synth intro, followed by deranged angry screaming and growling. It sounded like someone had lost all grip on sanity and was enjoying the heck out of it. I wasn't even into extreme vocals at the time.

What's interesting about this video, it being their last and all, is the band are named after the murders on Lake Bodom. The video ends on the Reaper standing over that lake with the eclipsing moon. A fitting visual send off there. A fan of COB since '04, sucks to hear the news! Great reaction/review guys!!

Hatebreeder was my first metal album with couple of others that I bought at the same time when I had just turned 13. Saw them for the first time in 2000 at christmas time. The most amazing gig I've ever been to. Through the years saw them plenty of times and the most memorable gigs were the christmas time gigs in Finland with christmas trees and lots of fun and parties. So many amazing memories. So sad to see this happen to this band. Will forever stay at the top of my list in music.

According to Alexi the original idea was to end in the end of 2020, therefore there was a plan to do the Tuska gig. Alexi was also in the same company which now owns the trademark, but he left. Things got quite sour during the Russian tour and they were very close to break up immediately. However, they agreed to behave themselves and do the Finnish tour. Fortunately I have a ticket to the gig in Jyväskylä on Dec. 13th (it sold out quickly and another gig at the same venue was booked for the following day - that sold out as well, that was long before the announcement).

I didn't know about this sad news. I fell in love with them about 18 years ago. I've seen them live a few times, I met Laiho in 2006 and I couldn't even speak English so we chatted about things I don't know. I also got a Cobhc tattoo. Now I feel very sad and very old!

I got into them in high school. My friend at the time knew I was into metal (although at that point about 90% of my collection consisted of a combination of Priest, Maiden, Metallica, Slayer, King Diamond/Mercyful Fate and Queensryche) so I was more of a classic era fan and not so much modern at-that-time metal until he gave a copy of Hatebreeder which I instantly fell in love with. I've always credited CoB as the reason for getting me used to more extreme vocal styles and my eventual love of black metal after listening to their releases so I'll dearly miss these guys

I feel like i have left this comment before... But my favorite COB memory was when i was in 3 hour bus ride ( which usually would feel like eternity ) While i was there i listened through couple COB albums and time just went by and i enjoyed the ride xD And when it was over i was kind of sad since i wanted to listen more... But had other things to do.

it was somewhere between 2002-2003, I was living in norway, I was working at the cod processing factory at the time. Remember being drunk as hell with a couple of my norwegian friends, kevin and björn-inge. my flatmate had been visiting finland,and I asked her if she could bring me bodom's new album, hate crew deathroll,and she did bring it. we listened to it with my home theater system, loud as fuck. my friends had never heard bodom before, they were more into metallica,aerosmith, g'nr. but they were amazed about the music, remember them saying " what in the hell is this band, how did you find it?

Alexi said he will come back with a new band and he already has some new members on board. He said the name could be just Bodom or something totally different. He also confessed the band had a big fight in Russia and almost disbanded immediately but they managed to come to agree to finish the ongoing tour. Alexi said he's the one to blame, I would guess it has something to do with alcohol/drug abuse because he has lost a lot of weight.

I thought Alexi's weight loss was to do with his stomach issues. I have the similar problems and it has a huge effect when there is a load of stuff you can't eat, I have lost just over a stone. I look better for it but when you are already really thin like he is, losing a stone is not so good. I could be wrong but I hope not. Thanks for the link :)

Such a good song. But not their best work (ie. not their best album), in my mind. Very cool video, great artistery there. Well, CoB was my first ever extreme metal band. This band got me to like the harsh vocal style. And I've seen the band four times, so I am content. And yeah, this year has been fantastic for metal in general. Keep it up, you two! :D

Why people still think about Tarja like about Nightwish? :/ They left her, I don't like old members of Nightwish...
