@@fr3akjesusmfv Yes it’s same Mnet😂 Korean TV stations used to broadcast some shows from metal acts like Pantera, Slayer, Dream Theater and even Kreator back in that 90s and early 00s lol

Having done this before in a band, in the beginning I thought to myself "how is this even possible?" and got stuck often. But after about 3 months of regular practice, one day my hands went off on auto pilot by themselves and I was able to focus on just singing while the guitar played itself 😮. Human potential is wild. Note: I was playing technical stuff, but nothing even CLOSE to this level.
@@sheldo6 this thread is about playing and singing at the same time, which has a myriad different factors. My initial comment was specifically about juggling both, and that comes from practice.
Seeing this old live show I finally understood how good COB and Alexi really were. They must have lost their prime already some time ago seeing those latest live gigs from past years. But their albums still always kick ass, Hexed being one of my favourites with awesome songs like Soon departed and Hecate's nightmare. R.I.P Alexi ❤ we love you ❤ and we will never forget you!
@@therealapophis4997 I would say this and Tokyo Warhearts was peak time COB live. They experienced a live slump for some time, but put one a another great one in 2017 Live at Summer Breeze! Check it out!
Dude, not kidding but I used to watch this 15 years ago like 20 times a day. Thank you Alexi for giving me a great teenage era. HATECREW FOR EVER. RIP ALEXI LAIHO
Sheldon Ractliffe Chaos Ridden Years is a fun DVD to watch, but it's pretty sloppy compared to this Live in Seoul. If you value musicianship and clean playing, Seoul is far better.
Been practising that riff on and off for three years. Somedays it flows, sometime not. Adding singing is ridiculous, tempo here is aöso 10-15+ To recorded. Nevermind solo.
@@Uber__mensch2 Growling and Opera "Screaming" are vocals coming from "gut". They are therefore singing. If it would come from throat it would destroy voice.
As a Korean who was born in 2001, I can't believe so many people loved metal back then. Nowadays, if I recommend metal song to someone in Korea, he(or she) will think I'm a weirdo.... When I said "well...I...like rock and metal bands than pop artists.." which was a reply to a question "Which music do you like?", he said "Oh....I see...." and that conversation was ended. LOL.
No wonder they are metal legends, even if they were less impressive towards the end. During that time they had it all, killer songs, amazing technical skill, badass attitude. They managed to be super tight and wild at the same time, which is what COB is all about. This is a piece of metal history.
Even when he was a little sloopy during those 3-string arpeggios, Alexi managed to blow your mind away every time COB played Kissing the Shadows live 🤯🤯 Gone, but never forgotten.
The almighty guitar God Alexi Laiho. There will never be another like him. As a long time guitar player when talking about the best in the world its not about who can shred the fastest or who knows more scales or more techniques. Its about the music that the player can make you feel. Not only was Alexi a virtuoso of guitar but he wrote some of the most memorable guitar solos and melodies over and over again. He put his soul and his musical vision in his songs and melodies. When Alexi played you knew it was him right away. His songs and leads and riffs will stick in my head until the day I die. That to me is what makes a player the best. R.I.P. Laiho.

HE WAS THE MOST TALENTED GUITAR HERO OF THE LATEST ERA OF SHREDDING BUT HE WAS DIFFERENT OF MANY HEAVY PLAYERS THAT I EVER KONOWN IN MY WHOLE LIFE.......!!!!!! REST IN PEACE GREAT MASTER..........!!!!!!
Rest in peace, Alexi. I was there(Live in Korea, 2001). You and COB nailed it, one of the best metal live concerts in my life. You will be remembered forever.
90's - Early 2000's was the peak for metal culture in terms of creativity, popularity, energy. E.t.c everything now is living in it's shadow. Thankful I got to see COB once before everything fell apart.
I know bodom helped me thru hard times thru out the years. There guitar playing helped me push my own boundaries. Cob definitely changed my life. Love bodom forever. One of a kind!!! So freaking young!! Love it
He used to play Jackson RR back in their best years (the first three albums). I really miss that sound, before they sold out to the stupid american metalcore :(
100% - The best tone, the best sound, the best set list, the best playing technics, the best look. And the best live atmosphere. In 2006 this live was watched 3-4 times per day whole summer holidays.
@@Kytkyloota Stockholm´s sound is dirty for me. I bought the DVD when it came out and to be honest, the sound was disappointing. Comparing with Tokyo Warhearts. Maybe it was more than they way they played than the sound.
Alexi basically changed my teen years back in the early 00's by giving me a purpose to aspire to. Do what he could on guitar and I'm sure I wasn't the only one. Even after having seen them numerous times live, this show is how I'll personally remember the dude and his undoubted effect on my life.
Everything changed when Alexander left. The first 3 albums were pure brilliance. Maybe we can include hatecrew deathroll on there but follow the reaper & hatebreeder was the pinnacle of their abilities. Rip Alexi 🌹🖤
@@KorisnikVazduha well i think their new music is good and goes back to their roots more, thats what i ment with my comment. they are still popular too.
I will never get sick of hearing the self titled song during this set. Was so fucking pleased to have gotten to hear it live once before his passing. Love coming to this video from time to time. RIP Alexi.
@@yanami1241 chaos ridden years has some overdubs and extra gain added in post production, tokyo warharters is 100% true live sound, as requested by the band
@@raulcrespo.9 Alexi told in his recent book before he died that he had to overdub some solo on Tokyo warhearts cause apparently he played it "a whole step too low" or something along the lines of that. I still love the recordings, the little screw ups are perfectly normal when you are playing this precise stuff with this kind of intensity.
Been watching old Cob videos. Reliving my great memories listening to this band. You will be missed buddy, thanks for being an inspiration for starting to play guitar!
I miss this stuff. Classical shred, symphonic black, and thrash metal all rolled into one. There's death metal in there too, but I honestly don't hear a lot of it other than the lyrics, and even then you could argue that they're more black metal. The vocals ride between death and black metal. Otherwise, it's a lot of classical shred and thrash with black metal mixed in.
They were so GREAT and MIGHTY. Fuck... I wish that there's some second world after death, so I could ever tell this guys "RESPECT". Rest in metal heaven Alexi.
I watch this concert every christmas, it's a tradition to me now. I saw this concert(albeit only just the Hate Me one, early days, no youtube) and instantly knew that I had to learn guitar. Now, years later, I've learned so many of these songs and released music. Don't know if I would if it weren't for this influence. What a fucking show, what an influence. Rest in peace, homie.
17 years ..... Hahhh I have memories with this concert (was never there, nor I ever saw COB live, still a die hard fan and so much in sorrow right now). You'll be missed always Alexi and COB
They were 20 year old kids when the did this. Lets face it people change. Look at yourself 14 years ago, are you the same person you were then, would you still be writing thr exact same songs you did back then. COB aren't 20 year old kids anymore they all have grown and matured so its impossible for them to write another hatebreeder or follow the reaper. And Alexi is just as good as he was back then...actually he is probably better. He has 14 more years of playing under his belt. You might like what he played back in the day better than the new stuff but that doesn't mean he was a better player back then. The first 4 bodom records were my favorites buy just because they sound different now doesn't mean there worse musicians they just found there style
+Robert Zalar That's actually not true. If you don't keep up on your technique it will start to degenerate. Alexi is not a bad player but he is also not that great, I don't know if he ever was. I used to think he was amazing 15 years ago but over that time I became better and better at the instrument myself. The better you get the more you can identify another players strengths and weaknesses. His playing on the early stuff is good, his solos aren't easy to play, they require strong alternate picking ability and pretty good sweeping. There not easy to execute 100% clean but there not as crazy as I used to think. He does play very sloppy live which is excusable because its a high energy performance but he plays sloppy on many of his video demonstrations. Ultimately I like his riffs and solos early on which makes him a good musician but he is not the technician many people think he is and I'm sure he would say the same thing. If you quit working on technique you lose it although its easier to tighten it up after you become rusty. When he was young he was probably coming off his years of hard practice which could be the reason people think he played much cleaner back then. He's a working musician now who writes and tours heavily so his years of woodshedding are probably behind him.
Wild Child will be forever missed, but never forgotten! Rest in eternal Power, brother! Kiitos for the Metal! We're Hate Crew we stand and we won't fall!
