TV's Matthew Kelly, sporting a natty Giraffe jumper, brings us exciting news for what's coming up in '85 for CITV - then a whole raft of ads, including Braun alarm clocks, a Love Songs LP, London Transport Cheap Day Returns, Kattomeat VIP, Fruit 'n' Nut Brek, Sinclair ZX Spectrum + (not as nice as the rubber original), Des O'Connor's new LP and a Braun Food Processor. Matt's back to introduce Razzmatazz with Alastair Pirrie and Wham!

Good to see the Des O'Connor album being advertised during Children's ITV - really hitting the right demographic there.

ah the good old days when ITV had a decent Children's brand and programmes and the charts were full of real stars! Bring it back! :)

No, this is Monday 17th December 1984. Razzamatazz seems to have moved from Wednesday to Monday for this show only.

Matthew Kelly's pretence to present Citv live would make me chuckle

Wow golden era of CITV. Still remember Mathew Kelly was original presenter and he made CITV what it is.

For the first few years the presenter would change monthly. Matthew Kelly was indeed the first presenter in January 1983, then again here in December 1984, then April 1986 and the whole Autumn Term of 1986 (running from September to December)

This must have been broadcast in the Thames region because it's advertising London transport

I loved Razzmatazz! It never gets a mention in tv clip shows!

How can you not like their signature tune either? From Sunderland's finest musical export, The Toy Dolls!

Alistair pirrie died last year at the age of 62. He was a radio pioneer in stockton but he had been unwell since he had a stroke. He moved out of radio and into social things like social care. According to his widow Dominique noi he wanted to get into writing novels but that never happened.

They were fairly regular advertisers on Thames at least, i have a fair bit of Thames continuity which i keep meaning to upload one day, LT ads seemed to be fairly common in the daytime.

This file suggests the "Network Control" set - and perhaps titles - were introduced in January 1985.

Des O;Connor ads during CITV? Clearly the marketeers hadn't perfected their art yet by this point.

Alistair Pirrie looks really different to the previous series with blonde hair and tinted glasses!

Only a bit, could have fiddled with virtualdub's audio settings but it seemed ok - my DVD recorder is quite fussy with stuff on this tape, some of it - it just won't entertertain and stops recording!

As is The Roxy. The Tube is still well known, if only for the hosts

Razzmatazz like Ready Steady Go! twenty years earlier, finished before its time. The Roxy was a poor imitation of TOTP.

Whatever happened to Alistair Pirrie?

very good question? nobody seems to know. Lisa Stansfield did very well out of it. launched her music career on the back of it.
