Several of the trucks, including the winner Bigfoot Nation, used Tamiya Clod Buster axles and gearcases. They are easy to spot because of how much larger they (the Clod Buster axle assemblies) are compared to the axles on Losi LMT and Axial SMT10 based trucks.

@@Locoboy5150 that is awesome. So how would one get into this hobby?

@@wrenchingoncars1884 I am not really sure how people are getting into R/C these days and how they are starting out because I first got into the R/C hobby way back when the Tamiya Frog came out in about 1983. Real life took over so I put my R/C trucks (Clod Busters and Bull Heads) into storage about twenty years ago and I am just now dusting them off, restoring them, and getting back into the hobby. I am currently building another project truck based on a Tamiya Bull Head. Back when I first got into R/C, I got all of my information from the local hobby shop. Later, in the early 2000s with the rise of the internet, I got my information from online message boards like the Radio Control Monster Truck Network (RCMT.) That one was, hands down, my favorite because it catered strictly to what I was most into, R/C monster trucks. Those message boards are all gone now so I do not really know where today's new R/C enthusiasts are getting their information from.
