@Mula Mi im also from Chile and i've been to a lot of manifestations, i can tell you that most, if not all, of the shootings have not ocurred out of self-defence by part of the police, but rather them trying to opress the people violently
"More than 180 protestors have become partially blind" How cruel and inhumane! My heart goes out to all of my Chilean brothers and sisters. I hope this coverage gains traction, this demonic practice stops and justice is served. I pray for your healing!
Thank you for your support! It's very much appreciated it. It is terribly sad, and just the other day a 21 years old student became completely blind thanks to pellets being shot to both his eyes.
In Chile, our human rights have been violated for more than 20 days and the government is only concentrating on not losing its privileges at the expense of everything.
@yanira lems Oh i understand..only in 3rd world countries one can undergo expensive procedures..n in west one can only dream of getting normal medication.Thats just one sector.
@@snowmoon7385 in chile, the people "protesting" burned the subway stations, small businesses leaving 100000 people unemployed, they are forcing normal people to dance or else they get beaten, they burn private and public property. The police are fighting these "protesters" leaving over a thousand policemen and women injured badly. But the media wont show that because they always take the side of the poor and vulnerable people.
The violent protestors are left wing socialists using violence to force change. These protestors ate the minority, civilization should not bend a knee to violence grin the minority.
Of course the people in power want to frame it in a way that makes the protesters look like the bad guys. Only simpletons would fall for it. It takes a lot of courage to stand up for change in the face of violence. Especially against the brutal tactics that the Chilean government is using. Shameful.
money, it’s all about money, they own the country, literally, we live under an extreme form of neoliberalism, where everything is privatized, if you want good education, you need to pay for it, if you want healthcare, well you also need to pay for it, and of course they don’t want to lose their money so they’re doing everything in their power to stop people from changing that.
@@bigphillyed where did you read that? Over 23 people have been killed by the POLICE. Protesters have not killed anybody. We are literally disarmed. The only person, a citizen, who injured somebody was a white supremacist from the US who aimed his gun at people who were pacifically protesting in the streets and fired 4 times, shooting one on the leg. He committed a terrorist attack and illegaly carried a gun.
@@bigphillyed you are so naive, is the same police dress as civilians, and people pay by government to start destroying everything, so the police can say that there were being violence, and force need to be used. This is a way they have use for year in Latin American countries.
it's heart breaking to read such story ; I'm from HK and we're more or less fighting for inequality here, non-justice here. We need more and more international support for any places like in Chile and in Hong Kong. God bless all the protesters who fight not only for themselves but people around on this inequality.
HK protesters fight against a dictatorship, Chilean protesters want to overthrow a legitimate President of a democratic country. Remarkable difference.
@Nick Waddle Does wanting economic dignity mean socialism to you? So we either accept what we have now or we will be socialists? you only imply that rightists are useless. It is the citizens claiming their rights, not the leftists. there are no political parties in the streets.
This is what happens when the big companies in Chile seen that there pockets are going to earn less money and give the chilenian people more, and they are using force so that doesn't happen

Those seeked that outcome when destroying the whole city around. It's pity and sad but when they burn everything to the ground, throw Molotov bombs to police, set fire to restaurants, hotels. bars, supermarkets...it's normal they have what they deserve. In other countries Police kills them...they are not innocent people...they are all criminals...unfortunately there were brutal consecuences but it's their responsibility.
Nadie ha muerto en las protestas de hong kong y eso que llevan meses protestando, en Chile llevamos 1 mes y hay más de 20 muertos y mas de 5.000 heridos.
@Nick Waddle it's not really about politics, it's about equality for our people. There are people who have worked all their life and their retirement money its about 100 dollars or less. Chile it's one of the most unequal countrys in the world.
Nick Waddle I have seen your comments around here and I think you are just seeing this as political problem, with a very extremist mindset. This is a SOCIAL movement, it really doesn't matter where you come from, your political color, religion, whatever. This is just abuse, decades of abuse. Most countries invest in their citizens, whereas here they just take and take. And the "taking" has gotten out of hand.

@@bluessoul0714 One single protester did. But the video you linked is not trustworthy at all. It's a news channel sponsored and controlled by the Chinese government. Also, it does not show proof that the person who set the man on fire was actually a real protester. For all we know it might have been someone hired by authorities to make the protesters look bad, there are recorded cases of this happening. You should not judge the whole movement in Hong Kong on this untrustworthy source. I don't understand why you would even argue for the Chinese government in the first place. It is an oppressive force. And if it were similar in our countries to how it is in China we might not even be able to have this exchange in the first place.
@@moidesu5414 Have you ever been to China before? How come you jumped to the conclusion that a HK resident who wanted those violent rioters to stop vandalism set on fire was appointed by authorities? Aivlis VJ That stability and unity were never real, lower income regions and families have never had the luck to be stable, and higher class citizens were never a part of the real Chile, they treat anyone below them like garbage and "entitled" for wanting a government that gives them a chance. Thank you for publishing this. As a Chilean living abroad it's been rough seeing how little the international media has been reporting on these atrocious human rights violations by the Chilean police and military. I would like to note that the numbers of people injured, tortured, sexually assaulted/abused that are quoted here are very likely higher in reality. 'Official' numbers are extremely unreliable considering most of them originate from the Chilean government itself. As you can see in the video, the minister for the interior stands by the fact that no human rights are being violated as the military and police are "following all protocols".
@@johnschumer2174 Obama is a millionaire and not a billionaire, anyways I can't understand the obsession America has with Obama, he was a awfully irrelevant president.

I wish the people of Chile had more public support. This is a travesty and the government brutality is disgusting. The people have a right to be heard. My heart goes out to the protesters you are all so brave I hope you can get heard!
I want to know if there is a registry of violation of human rights that occurred in the Hong Kong protests, that information has not been mentioned in Chilean journalism
@@alis_2323 Hong Kong's water and electricity bills are cheaper than those in mainland China. The most important point is that Hong Kong does not have to pay taxes to the state. They have always enjoyed the welfare of the country, but they want to overthrow the government. You are different.
This breaks my heart and infuriated me at the same time. I respect the people of Chile and anyone who’s willing to risk their safety, freedom and life to stand up for what they believe in. My heart goes out to those who’ve suffered this horrific injury. 🖤 And to those who are willing to go back out there I raise my fist in the air in solidarity! ✊
Last century the CIA destabilized the government of Salvador Allende (democratically elected) by sabotaging truck drivers in the country, generating a lack of products in some places and oversupply in others. Then the "la moneda" palace was bombarded with planes and the president died, supposedly because he committed suicide (with such lies told in recent months, I don't believe them). After this, the dictator General Augusto Pinochet assumed power, who ruled until 1990 under the motto "the end justifies the means" that is, economic freedom at the expense of the other freedoms. Metaphorically speaking, he bought the current economic stability of Chile with the blood of thousands of innocent civilians and militants of the socialist and communist parties (note that I speak of different groups: civilians and opponents, many unarmed). The lucky ones were exiled. There were tortures, disappearances, extrajudicial executions and even hunts in foreign territories (I think that constitutes an act of war). Some of the crudest testimonies of survivors speak of living incinerated people, women who were put mice in the vagina as a method of torture, people being thrown into the sea from helicopters, or being blown up with dynamite in the middle of the Atacama desert , etc. There was a tour that the dictator did in several cities in Chile, where the military literally took random civilians from their homes and killed those who were considered "more extremist" in extremely cruel and disgusting ways, only to generate terror and submission, exactly the same as the terrorist group "luminous path" in Peru used to do in the past. Edit: The "caravan of death" was so disastrous that the following words came out of one of the generals in an interview. "I was ashamed to see them. They were shattered. I wanted to arm them, at least leave them in a human form. Yes, they took out their eyes with knives, they broke their jaws, they broke their legs ... In the end they gave them the coup of grace. They were taught. "[...]" They were killed so that they died slowly. That is, sometimes they shot them in parts. First, the legs; later, the sexual organs; Then the heart In that order the machine guns fired" - Joaquin Lagos. I will be honest. I respect and admire the moral standards of freedom that the U.S. proclaims in his symbols, slogans and anthem, but knowing the history of my country I cannot avoid feeling disgust when I hear them. Excuse me, but unfortunately I also love freedom, but I was born in another hemisphere. Anyway, I admire and respect the American who, innocent of the crimes committed in my land, defends that freedom in ALL context, not just for convenience. It is not his/her fault, and I think (perhaps naively) that their current leaders are not to blame either. God bless and forgive their country.
In 1973, but Chile since 1990, which is a democratic country and those people who were left without eyes was the result of brutal confrontations with the Police (they also had casualties). The violent protests in my country are aimed at removing a legitimate and democratic President.
Because he doesn't care about the people, only what entrepreneurs need from this country. He is an anti-social, with lack of compassion, empathy, and understanding of what the chilean people is suffering, the inequality, discrimination, and lack of opportunities is killing us. Just because Chile has grew in the past 30 years, doesn't mean that each home has improve their life quality.
This is inhumane no human being should have the power to take away someone’s vision for life. Their had to be repercussions for this kind of policing!!!!!!
Yeah I agree with that. The man will never regain his eyesight by God However, there are a lot of story I heard from multiple sources /preachers about people who got their eyesight back. All of this stories are from Islamic background. 1) In the Noah/Nuh thing, there's this story about people cleaning the ship which was vandalised in certain ways. A blind man took a dirt and smear it on his face, then he suddenly got his eyesight back cus God love Noah/Nuh, so basically everyone who helped him was rewarded. In the end everyone took the dirts home to make it as medicine. 2) In Makkah, there's a man who regained his eyesight infront of Kaabah thanks to God. Look it up on Google "Blind man regained his eyesight in front of Kaabah" 3) There's a lot more I guess. Just to clarify, I'm just 17, I'm not religious, I don't believe in any religion. I heard these stories from people who wanna convert me to Islam/Muslim in Malaysia.
There is also the case of Gustavo Gatica, the young photographer who went blind in a peaceful demonstration. Since the social outburst of October 18, the third-year psychology student has portrayed peaceful demonstrations around Baquedano Square. It is the most serious of the more than 200 cases of eye injuries that occurred during mass mobilizations that have rocked the country since October 18.
It's nice to see you've made a video about it, I'm chilean and I couldn't go to school today because of all this, but it makes me happy to see that other countries know what's going on
