The irony: they're protesting oil; but wear backpacks, shoes, use phones, make signs.... All products requiring petrol.

They scream and yell, vandalize, block traffic and accomplish absolutely nothing.

The irony is that blocking traffic forces a ton of cars to just sit there pumping carbon monoxide into the atmosphere without getting anywhere.

I used to hate Piers, but this is an example of how being misinformed makes you think. I have been watching some of his videos, and I absolutely agree with him.

By keeping people from their jobs, their children, their medical emergencies, their daily lives, they're infringing on the rights of all people. It should be illegal and they should be arrested.

The best part of this is that some of us, myself included decided to actually try to help and get into engineering and construction of renewable energy projects. They cry about green energy, then COME HELP US CONSTRUCT IT. We're short handed enough as it is on workers, these stunts have had donors pulling billions of dollars of funding because they want to distance themselves from the loons.

No one gets the ass beat anymore, if they knew you were going to break their bones for doing so they wouldn’t do it.

I wonder how many of these climate crazies have given up their heating and air-conditioning, their cell phones, their transportation, etc.?

It’s not about the climate. It’s about the opportunity to manifest rebellion, chaos and hatred. These are the same people who litter, trash and tear up things that end in landfills.

The damage to the artwork is just mind boggling. They need to be given prison time, whatever the maximum is.

They are professional activists - Universities have courses for activism. The Government is enabling and growing the activism.

Keep in mind that many police would LIKE to remove these crazies ... they are being stopped by police senior management and the government who are supporting this disruption

Why haven't they been arrested for obstruction, vandalism and disturbing the peace?

They force people to use more fuel when they stop traffic. They use fuel to get to their locations. They use plastics and other Oil based products in abundance in their protests. It is difficult to take them any more seriously than clowns playing a part.

Pass a law that fines every one of them $1,000 plus an equal share of the cost of repairing or replacing what they have damaged or ruined. Double the fine for each subsequent protest. I guarantee it will stop them.

When a passenger disturb a flight in an airplane they are (severely) arrested. Why not the same with those terrorists blocking the highway ?

Not only the police but the people elected legislators should be held accountable for dereliction of duty. The right to protest should not included the right to impede, riot, vandalize, occupy private property or any other activities that infringe upon those, not a part of some protest, rights to move about and conduct their daily business. I'm all about and for freedom. Perhaps one solution would be to levy heavy fines upon all protestors, their organizations and the independent heavy financial backers who continue to support these egregious actions at the expense of the public. The tax paying public and businesses should be compensated for lost of gas & money, waisted time, restoration costs, building repairs, use of police...etc., these obstructionist protesters are causing. "Freedom isn't free" and it doesn't mean, "to be able to do anything one wants at the expense of their fellow man!
