Living in New Mexico in the early 90s the Mexican food trucks rolled in for breakfast. I always chose the beans, potatoes and green chilli with fresh tortillas cooked while you wait .
I've made every taco bell chilli cheese or enchirito copycat recipe on youtube and have always been disappointed but I'm betting these will be better then taco bell. 🌮 Thanks for the recipe.
I made refried bean and cheese soft tacos off of your bean burrito video. I made the beans myself. It was muy beuno. This old white dude from Alabama will be doing the chili cheese burritos, just not to hot😂🌶
Please don’t ever stop sharing these kinds of recipes!! There’s nothing like sharing your unique spin on things, opens up creativity, and nothing satisfies more than a simple, home-cooked meal! I’m so ready to try this one! 🙏💕
Just yesterday, I was talking to my son about my mom making this meal for our family and how much we loved it. Then I see this pop up on my feed a couple of hours ago. So simple yet so delicious. Thank you.
OMG! My mouth is watering-memories of my Grandma making tortillas and having one right off the comal with butter. YUM! The chili looks great WITH beans! Or even without. Gotta try this one, thanks for sharing!
I've been eating chili cheese burritos, from Taco Bell, from way back when they used to call them "Chilitos". I understand they had to change the name, because it meant something else.😄 But I still eat them today and I'm knocking on the 80 year old door. Great recipe, I'll try to make the chili, but I'll have to buy the tortillas.
Can’t wait to try this!! I finally took your cookbook to the printing company I used to work for and had them trim the binding off and add a cool binding so now it’s a spiral cookbook! So handy! And I love how many stains are already on the pages from how often I use it.
I highly suggest adding a line of mustard on top of any chili burrito, especially chili dogs. Though it might seem weird, the flavor goes well with chili. Is your favorite brand of canned chili kinda bland? This might be an excellent solution. Even with far more delicious homemade stuff, a line of mustard makes the flavors pop. Plus, mustard goes well in chili while cooking. It's an emulsifier, just like honey! I've used both, and the results were very good. What's an emulsifier? It binds oil to water, reducing the likelihood of an unsightly oil slick forming on top. Why emulsify? Whatever oil you can lock in boosts the flavor of sauces and soups.
I am Canadian but I've lived in the UK for a looong time. Chilli cheese burritos from Taco Bell are a childhood favourite I can't get here, so I'm going to have to try this recipe out!!
This was the perfect thumbnail to get me to watch this. The tortilla looks so excellent and the chili is ideal as a socal boy. I suck at tortillas but ima try for this one, it looks so excellent!
This looks like the ultimate comfort food, I’m ordering your cookbook right now, thanks for sharing all your wonderful recipes Angelica, you are so generous 🙏✨
my favourite mixing bowl is actually a metal salad bowl I bought for under 10 pounds at Morrison's many years ago. Indestructible. Not supposed to be dishwasher safe, but is, and great size.
This reminds me of taco bell's chilito's! My favorite burrito from there when I was a kid...they don't have them anymore. I'll have to try this recipe! Thanks for sharing.
These simple dishes are so good for a quick dinner…ok…unless you’re making homemade tortillas. Chili cheese is always a winner. Your simple recipe looks delicious as usual.
Just made this. Followed your recipe to the letter and the tortillas are quite easy, soft, warm and wonderful. 100 times better than store bought. The cheesy bean and beef mix is deeeeelicious! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!! This recipe is definitely a keeper! Didn't have a griddle but my largest frying pan on high did the trick. The tortillas bubbled up just like in your video!
Definitely will be trying with store bought tortillas from HEB cause I can’t risk the tortillas not turning out right. Looks great and I’ll add the beans. Thank you.
I saw this video Friday. told my wife about it. she said yeah sounds good. had friends/family over this evening. everyone loved it. Thank you so much for this. Planning on picking up a copy of your book! Also, how you say "tortillas" scratches that brain itch that I didnt know I had.
Hi A.!!! I like when you shoe us how to make Tortillas. I havent tried these yet. I want to one day. They just look so fresh!!!Yes , I like that bowl also. I have been looking for one like it for a long time now. Anyways these Buritto s look mouth watering...YUMS!!!...Thanks for this tasty recipe...Great Video!!!...🦋
I make something similar and it is so good! One of these days I am going to make your tortillas because they always come out looking perfect in your videos. One of the things I like about this recipe / my version is that, with a little bit of minced onion and some tortilla chip strips, it satisfies my craving for Taco Bell without me having to spend a fortune given how expensive fast food is these days. One could even add a bit of rice to stretch it out even more. I agree with you that these burritos are top tier burritos. With how simple they are to make and how satisfying, you can't go wrong.
I absolutely love your cookbook " Bible" it's my go to for anything Tex Mex cuisine. I'm in South Texas and you did well with this recipe collection. Thank you! There is one recipe I am in search of... Pande Campo. Camp bread people here make it but guard their recipes like crazy. My dad used to make it unfortunately I didn't get his recipe before he passed.
Thanks, Angelica! (I bought your cookbook when it was first released, and love all the recipes.) Have to say my tortillas are not always the best, because my skills are lacking…but I just keep on practicing! We eat them up, no matter what though! 😊 (I’m hoping they’ll eventually look like the ones you made today!) Yum! 🧡
