Never had this problem with our hailea chiller but I modded the unit by purchasing a temp probe with a few meter long wire. Unplugged the internal sensor and plugged the external probe to the same connector. Now it measures the water temp directly from the aquarium and not inside the machine itself, where the readings can be affected by the heat generated by the machine.
Yeah Cool mate Im thinking of doing the same thing I'm getting a HC-130a may I ask where you got the temperature extension led?. I was also going to tap into the AC pump with a relay and stop the flow of water wen the pumps off see what happens
I just picked up a hailea 500a chiller. I'm no expert but I tested it out first to read temp before connecting to my display. What I did notice it pulls a shit load of heat out from the back of the unit. What I see here is you need at least 40 cm space to let the chiller pass that heat directly out. It pulls air from the sides and front. Lack of cool air circulating this unit seems like your problem. Just my guess. Did you find the problem?
My hailea 100a temp read out goes way up to 26 degrees Celsius while the water is cooled to 16 degrees Celsius, it just keeps running. There must be some internal sensor broken I think? Any help?
My 1000a also rise up the temp a bit when it kick in. But will cool down the water after a couple of minutes. Dont know if it's normal or not as i bought it used
same problem with mine. havent found any solutions other then shutting it off, turning it back on, or getting it serviced with more refrigeration fluid
