My dad was a prisoner in Flossenburg, Germany. Him and my mother moved to the United States in 1950. A friend of mine, his father, was sponsored by my father's uncle to come to the US. They all worked and never got government money and would become US citizens. My dad didn't teach me to speak either Ukrainian or Polish.
