Andols was probably my biggest influence as a metal drummer. I’ve been playing metal now for almost 20 years and still to this day Andols had more of an impact on me than any other drummer!

Andols Herrick is an amazing drummer.. his work on the roadrunner United album was incredible man.. and you and him together are unstoppable Rob.. the magic that chimaira had was undeniable.. just some of the best metal to ever hit the planet by far.. one of my favorites for sure and always will be man.. I'm from Ohio too and I couldn't believe that y'all were from Cleveland when I 1st heard you guys.. I was straight blown away to say the least.. I played the impossibility of reason CD so many times that it warped..lol.. that album imo, is hands down one of the best metal records in the history of metal music period.. every single song is incredibly heavy and incredibly amazing.. salvation is a masterpiece.. I love that tune bro.. it makes u wanna break shit, lol.. great video Rob.. take care and stay safe bro.. Cheers from Cincinnati Ohio USA..

See this is what it's all about. This is music. Getting in the garage or the basement and sweating it out and creating music. I think a lot of todays generation doesn't get that with shows like American Idol where they give you the completely wrong idea what music is all about. This is the real deal. This was awesome! I think if anyone is a dedicated fan of any band they would love to see more stuff like this.. Things like this to a genuine fan are like gold dust and it would be a real shame if we didn't get to see more of it.. I for one would be very interested in seeing more. Touching on why you said you were pissed off - I think that after seeing this, you were probably annoyed about having the camera around? I know from when I was in a regular band I would always feel a little tense when you're still trying to sort things out in practise, and then to have someone possibly film mistakes was always kinda off putting to me. I always wanted people to see the finished product when it was completed, not so much the mistakes that happened along the way to get to the end product. However, having said that, looking back now, it's ALWAYS awesome to see this kind of stuff, it just shows the dedication & preparation that went into it all!

This is such a treat Rob. There were so many monumental albums in my life that I would’ve loved to have been a fly on the wall for the creative/recording process. If you have more footage like this from any album that you’re willing to share then you have my vote. This channel is the gift that keeps giving \m/ Also, hindsight’s 2020 and you were clearly passionate about how this album came out. Definitely post more of this stuff!!! Maybe I’m just an analytical nerd, but I love seeing stuff like this where you can get earlier versions of the songs. Like Just as an example, here I can see Andols thought process on some different fills during that sick middle part of NRTL that didn’t make it onto the album. If you have any footage of making the self titled that would be cool to see, just because I feel that is the least-documented album. But I’ll take whatever you want to share!! 🤘🤘

It's so cool seeing that Jägermeister tour poster on the wall. That was the first show of yours I saw. I was already a fan of the music so I specifically went to make sure I saw you guys. I had seen both Slipknot and Fear Factory before so this particular show was all about checking you guys out for the first time, and it was at my favorite venue in town The Tabernacle in Atlanta, GA. I still jam your music in my ears at the gym all the time. Heavy driving grooves that help me through my lifts. I will forever be a supporter. You guys have been a big part of my life for so many years at this point. I can't even tell you how many Chimaira shows I went to. Every time you stopped in Atlanta I was there. @ 21:17 the Jager music tour banner in the back. I still have the same banner till this day and that concert is still the greatest concert i've ever been to (and I've been to 100's maybe even close to 1,000 of concerts). Chimaira, Fear Factory and Slipknot...I wish I could relive that night over and over again.

That No Reason to Live tremolo riff was a standout for me back when this album hit. Always loved the way it sounded, especially harmonized

Love the commentary Rob. More of this would be amazing. Watching your videos during quarantine has inspired me to play guitar again. Been working on my right hand technique and finally nailed Severed! Such a fun song to play.
