Why stop at the monkeys then. If your way of thinking is correct, why not allow the little starving children be fed by killing the elephants as well. The elephant would feed more than just a few people right? And why they are at it, cutting down the trees so they can use the wood to build homes instead of thatched huts and use to also cook the meat. With this way of thinking, no animal is safe from poachers.

No, this happens when a countries corrupt government doesn't help it's people. Capitalism can and does work. A business wants to continue to thrive and that only happens when they offer a commodity that is desired and sustainable. Problem is corrupt country leaders look at short term, quick gains. Can you really blame the Congolese and other African societies? They're extremely poor and are simply doing what they can to get by. People like yourself and myself cause way more damage living our modern lives. How much palm oil products do we use annually? A lot.
