China’s Growing Influence in the Persian Gulf

It wasn't that long ago the Persian Gulf was a no-go zone for Chinese diplomacy. Back then, China didn't source much energy from Gulf countries, and its diplomats were ill-equipped to handle the region's contentious politics. That is no longer the case.
The six member countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council collectively form one of China's largest trading blocs anywhere in the world... and not just for energy. Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and others are now major destinations for Chinese investment in tech, autos, and other non-oil sectors.
But this relationship is still relatively new and often poorly understood by outsiders. The team at the ChinaMed Project issued a new report this month that provides a helpful country-by-country overview of the key issues that frame China's ties in the Persian Gulf.
Enrico Fardella, director of the ChinaMed Project and an associate professor at the University of Naples, along with Andrea Ghiselli, the ChinaMed Project's research director and an assistant professor at Fudan University in Shanghai, join Eric and Cobus to discuss the different narratives about how Chinese and Gulf stakeholders view one another.

If China does it the deal will be a long term solution otherwise China will not endorse it. China is not in it for name but materially for the lives of everyone in concern. Israel will of course try to resist it but it cannot afford China to side with the Palestinians so a deal may be possible because China is culturally neutral to both and is sufficiently important to the economies of both sides. Once China is involved it could bring permanent peace and prosperity to the whole region.

Shahid Bolsen of Middle Nation has spoken on this matter and said something similar (15:55 - 16:15 and 47:25). He gets a lot of flack for saying this, but he is right.

At 15:55 echoes exactly what Shahid Bolsen talks about at Middle Nation. He’s the only Muslim voice pushing this online.

47:27 can you point out which Gulf media is commenting on China's influence in the region as a myopic reading of another oppressive economic power taking command of the region.

China compared to the US has a promiscuity with its relations to other countries, which means its relationships are shallow rather than deep. The US is very discriminatory in its relations with other countries, it requires and gains allies that are ready to commit to US interests. China sadly is a friend to all!

Us need its poodles to cede their interest to usa, eg Germany buying American LNG 5 times more expensive after bombing Nord 2. It's called puppet states.

That's laughable. Haven't you heard the saying, "To be a friend of the US is fatal".

A friend to all should be what a superpower should do. Because in the optics side it reduces your cost for diplomacy and also able to increase your influence in world events.

@@skydragon23101979 Exactly. It is laughable how OP wants to spin China being diplomatic is actually a bad thing. Later, he is going to say exercising is a bad thing. Eating healthy with a balanced diet is a bad thing. Being a good person is a bad thing. LOL
