Hmmm, their 7nm technology was fake, and now they leaped-frogged to 4??? Takes years to develop a new technology node. I've worked directly with SMIC on earlier nodes, they were crap, poor yielding, layout design rules were inconsistent, etc. We dropped them as a vendor.
