Report forgot to mention the APEC card for foreign permanent residents. Got it for past 20 years, and I pass borders through special lane, quite fast except for the finger prints. But this permit will be even better for sure.

Big difference between Mainland China and Hong Kong. One time I was transferring through Hong Kong on Cathay Pacific when we were told there is no flight to take us on to JFK NY. They will put us up in a hotel. Hong Kong immigration gave me a 90-day visa stamp. That is just for staying one night in Hong Kong. China wants so many things like fingerprints and more.

Well, it's getting easier and easier to visit China, but still not as easy as it was in the 1990s or the 1980s. The most difficult time for China visas was 2018-2019, not including the Covid period, when it was almost impossible.

China should extend visa for foreigners also and facilitate ease of business, investor mechanism of protection. Also increase english usage in big cities and soft power to lure visitors in.
