I just watched the interview between Tucker Carlson and Vladimir Putin. I found it interesting to hear Putin's side of things. Of course, we have to look at actions more than words, but words are important because they help us better understand world leaders and how they want the world to see them.
Did you watch the interview? What did you think of it? Leave a comment below to let me know.

With all due respect, your knowledge of Russia and current events, especially since the 1990s, seems very limited. There is so much evidence that a lot of what Putin said qre mostly known facts by a lot of observers. By the way, he said a bit over 33% in Ruble and a bit over 34% in Yaun. So, it's a bit over 67%. Only 13% is in USD. And purchasing power peritty Russia is 5th in the world and first in Europe.

Putin is an impressive speaker. I used to be impressed years ago. Then I started reading History. There is a difference between ones words and ones actions. Study the history and meddling of Russia in all the former Soviet Block Countries. Look at how all the Russian wealth went to a few Oligarchs and not the Russian people. Read about life in the Russian army and the abuse of the lower ranks and theft by the upper ranks. The Soviets had some checks and balances and had a somewhat respectable society. Putin is a psychopath with no checks and balance on his power. Everything has to be his way even if it is wrong. May you marry a beautiful psychopath spouse that everyone loves but at home beats and abuses you and the kids. This is the charismatic, well spoken Putin.

You misunderstand, US does not want International Law. US wants "Rules Based Order" where they can say whatever the Rules are and change them when convenient, and everyone else follows the US' order. This has nothing to do with the UN charter and International law (which both Russia and China support). For example, US saying that Genocide is acceptable under the Rules Based Order, despite this being one of the foundation legal pillars of the UN Charter.

I watched his interview with an open mind. I think Tucker accomplished everything he set out to do and I sincerely believe Putin set the record straight to the world, contrary to what western propaganda has been pushing for many years. Bottom line is that Russia (as a whole) rejects western liberalism in most all aspects, and I respect that desire (it's their country, not ours). Putin made such headway on the world's public opinion stage that someone decided to attempt to derail this positivity by ending Navalny's life (in prison) and putting the blame on Putin. I smell a 3-letter acronym at play here. 🤔 When it comes to hegemony, the U.S. will do everything its power... to keep the power. Unfortunately, they will lose in the long run.

I think you didn’t pick up on the fact that the war was actually started by Ukraine in 2014 when they attacked the ethnic Russian Ukrainian civilians living in the East. He felt the Russian was not starting a war but just defending civilians. This was actually reported by western media in 2014, but ignored now. This is also actually corroborated by UN observers since 2014. One of the agreements that you don’t think was important was an agreement to end the attacks on those civilians. The leaders of both France and Germany both said that although they gave guarantees to fulfill the agreement but they never intended to keep their word. I think your characterization of Putin’s reaction to this duplicity is uncharacteristic of you.

I don't think "bitterness" was involved, as he stated it is not a family matter where you feel bitter for what your wife or kid had done, simply a societal and political transaction that unfortunately was not achieved despite the great effort that was put in negotiating those terms.

Well put. I was a little put off (and uncomfortable) how uncouth Carlson was about Russia should team up with the US to fight China, but Putin got off the subject quick. Otherwise, what I got out of the interview is similar to your take, if not a little more harsh against my own country the US, though not without sadness and disappointment. I mean, I don't want to hate my country, but at this time, be it Ukraine which was essentially a trap we set up for the Russians, our continual support of the genocide currently going on in Gaza and ugliest prevention of any effort toward cease fire, all the proxy wars we are starting elsewhere and containment strategy against China which posts no military threat to us (unless we attack them... then they will definitely be a threat), restrictions on international trade and unilateral sanctions, McCarthy style witch hunt on Chinese professors/researchers in the US, weaponization of the US Dollar and money laundering via the military industry complex, the US is just not good for the world. Hack, we are not good for our allies, our enemies, neutral countries (which might as well be an enemy to us, historically speaking), and not even ourselves. I suppose sooner China and Russia does change the world, the sooner we can move toward a cooperative state which we would need to tackle these global problems that Putin mentioned.

I have been watching quite a bit of Putin videos lately, so many of Tucker's interview points are quite familiar to me already. One very interesting topic which Tucker tried to push is the China threat, which Putin mockingly brushed aside. One can see that to Putin, US is the real threat not China.. I find Putin a very able leader, with the exception that he has no qualm getting involved in hot conflicts and many of his adversaries mysteriously ended up dead. other than the last 2 points Putin is head and should above the other G7 leaders.

Putin invaded Ukraine. This is contrary to international law. It is not up to Ukraine or the West to make peace. That is on Putin’s Russia, who STARTED the war by invading Ukraine, attacking its infrastructure and kidnapping thousands of Ukrainian children.

Hey, I’ve watched a couple of your videos because I finally came to China and there really aren’t too many Chinese RU-vid videos. I love it here so far (almost a month living here, so still on the honeymoon phase), but the only thing I have a somewhat problem with is a lot of the censorship. I have a VPN obviously, but man, when I got here, it is insane how much stuff is blocked. Do you consider that as an actual negative thing, and do you think it can change?

They had no choice, CIA, Endowment for Democracy, thousands of NGO's, where using internet to brainwash Chinese ..... the fault of censorship is not on China, it's 100% on UK, and America. If you learn Chinese fast, you will see Chinese channels and apps have a very low censorship and you won't be affected by that as much.

When I got there last year, it was one of the things that really annoyed me too, especially since my VPN wasn't working very well, so I was actually almost entirely cut off from the rest of the world for 3 full weeks. But when you plan for something exciting to do every single day, it becomes a non-issue. The locals are certainly not missing anything, they have their own apps and websites to entertain themselves. And when I talk to them, they seem as up to date on world affairs as anyone else, but their people were much less polarized on the more inflammatory topics.

Skewed opinions are just that, we all pick and choose data that best supports our stories or beliefs. None of us have the whole picture and often leave out data that goes against our beliefs. That is how one story can say "county x" is the best in the world and another story say "county x" is the worst country in the world, both stories are using real facts to support their opinion, but the way we write the story or present those real facts can create a best or worst story. We all do this in our own minds everyday about everything. People can stay in jobs or relationships for years by selecting facts that make things seem okay, even when it is not okay. So, Russia (Putin) has killed people he believed were spies or went against the state. He uses facts like "protecting the state" to justify his actions. Even with Ukraine - he invaded, those are the facts, but how it is presented can condemned or justify the action of invasion.

@@TripBitten , I am not saying Putin is a saint. We should only discuss and judge upon what he said at the interview, not him as a person. I had watched that interview and his assertions about how he tried to persuade USA not to expand NATO can be verified with other sources. His explanation for invading Ukraine is reasonable; indeed, he offered to stop the fighting in March 2022, just a month into the invasion. I could not find anything he said that could be deemed as skewed.

I fould the entire Putin interview quite interesting. I could have listened to him talk for another 2 more hours. Putin's views on the World and on China was quite facinating. It is the complete opposite of what our Western media have neen spoon feeding us. He believes that over time the Russian and Ukrainian people's wounds will heal though it might take quite a while. What makes Putin more believable was the ill-fated trip Boris Johnson, the United Kingdom Prime Minister made to Ukraine to scuttle the peace deal with Russia as has been widely reported. The greatest blunder in international diplomacy.

Here in Europe it is actually very real and even if the NATO has part in the escalation, currently is Putin the one who escalates the war more and more and he announced already in the Tucker interview that Poland might be next. Remember that Putin himself said Carlson only asked softball questions. Basically the entire interview was just Carlson giving Putin the chance to express his view and justify his actions. Anything can be spun to sound good. The fact of the matter is that Russia started the war and that's all you need to know. NATO expansion does not justify him to fire the first shot. Also, he just killed Navalny so that tells you what kinds of person he really is.

There is so much evidence that a lot of what Putin said are mostly known facts by a lot of observers. By the way, he said a bit over 33% in Ruble and a bit over 34% in Yaun. So, it's a bit over 67%. Only 13% is in USD. And purchasing power peritty Russia is 5th in the world and first in Europe.
