Jan. 7, 2021: China as a Twenty-First Century Naval Power
Admiral Michael McDevitt discuss his new book "China as a Twenty-First-Century Naval Power: Theory Practice and Implications," which explores China's strategic rationale behind Xi Jinping's objective for the People's Liberation Army to become a "great maritime power." Adm. McDevitt details how the Chinese Navy fits into China's campaign plan aimed at keeping reinforcing U.S. forces at arm's length, and forecasts what Xi's vision of a "world-class armed forces" might look like in the next fifteen years when the 2035 deadline is reached.
Rear Admiral Michael McDevitt, U.S. Navy (Ret.), had four at sea commands including an aircraft carrier battle group. He was a Pacific Ocean sailor with experience in all the waters he has written about. He began a 30-year involvement with U.S. security policy and strategy in Asia when he was assigned to the Office of Secretary of Defense in 1990 as Director and then as Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for East Asia. The talk will be moderated by Robert Thomas.

China is nationalistic, focused on duty and patriotism, studying hard and working hard and the survival and supremacy of the chinese over the world and China contain the largest ethnic group in existence and is alrgely homogenous country. The US is preoccupied by microaggressions and the right of trans people to serve everywhere in the military. The elite has wholly embraced woke ideology and the traits that make a great warrior is considered both as an example of white supremacy and toxic masculinity, both of which are anathema to the US elite. Meanwhile China has the shipyard capability and is throwing out very advanced and compentent ships that have for some time probably been better than the DDG-51 IIA estart and IIA technology Insertions destroyers, which make up the bulk of the fighting navy Force. Also, While China prepared for a great war US focused on fighting tribes in Afghanistan and Iraq and spent 2 trillion that could have been spent on navy ships, which there is a severe lack of in the US navy and the US navy is near the breaking point due to the ops tempo that is enforced on a too small force that has to "do more with less", which is a empty plattitude as diversity is our strentgh and Israel is our greatest ally (Jonathan Pollard was greated as a hero when he returned to Israel after having been pardoned by the incompetent Trump for spying for Israel. I know which horse I will bet on.
