Bodmin and Wenford Railway China Clay Gala, held over the weekend of September 9th and 10th
Gala saw plenty of action from the home fleet and visiting locos. Also saw the return of resident small prairie 5552 back into active service on returning from it's overhaul.
Port of Par locomotives 'Alfred' and 'Judy' were out too with Judy giving clay wagon rides within the station limits, Alfred though sadly was not in steam, but on static display in Platform 2 to join in the event, with hopes it will return to active service in the next few years.
Class 47 'The Sapper' alongside steam locos 5552 and visitor 5553 were on passenger services to Bodmin Parkway and Boscarne Junction, with the Class 47 also giving Clay Rides alongside Class 08 359.
A really good event to kick off September.
