China builds infrastructure (roads, railroads, ports, airports, etc.,) all over the world which benefits the people in those countries, the US on the other hand builds bases for its air force and navy, not much else which doesn't benefit the population at large, only the US's own interests. Every nation has the right to choose who invests in their country, and who they want to have trade relations with, even if it's in Latin America (by the way, is not the US's backyard, that term is insulting to the sovereignty/independence of those countries, since no one gave the US government any rights over Latin America).
Why should China build it or the USA, lol why can't Peru invest and build it, people of Peru my axx. Truth is your leaders are paid off, this will only benefit the elites of Peru who are corrupt
Hahahaha, typical reporters nowadays. Leading questions with inherent bias, cutting off people's responses because they don't align with the message they are trying to portray... What's new?
Peru is still very far away from the USA, unlike the US's military presence in the South China Sea and nuclear weaponry in S Korea and Japan. So why is the US so worked up?
If USA and China ever go to war, and chinese war ships dock in Chancay, hay papa. It will be disaster. China's 60% ownership could give say to.chinese navy to dock in Chancay in desperate times.
As an American, I say we should have invested in Peru and the rest of South America much more vigorously. The lean towards populism in the U.S. and the “America First” movement has lead to a lethargy of development in the Americas. Oh by the way backyard is just a figure of speech , the United States is also in Peru’s back yard….. just means we are close geographically …. Perhaps poor choice of words. Sorry.
@@Viva_la_constitucion-1993 it’s both! Sorry if that offends you but that’s a fact. THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA America is part of our name. USA …. The “A” means AMERICA. When you say American everybody knows who you’re talking about. If you don’t want to call us by that name, I respect that , but that’s one of the names I call my country… sometimes the U.S. , sometimes the United States and sometimes ….. yes…. America., and that’s the way it is! 😜 again sorry if my countries name upsets you! But there it is just the same!
i am peruvian💞 i can picture chinese and russian military ships passing through , wonderful , beautiful , for latinos if china and russia protect us it is kind of a better world , buen dia mis amiguitos potito blanco : 3 💯💯
@@pepea2610 What is the US doing for Peru, nothing... it has only built its military bases to protect us from drug traffickers and practice its authoritarian socialist foreign policy. while China invests in countries where it has bridges, roads, schools, ports, etc. Despite having a communist policy in China, abroad China's policy is very capitalist and does not take advantage like the United States.
Usa never ever tried any business with peru but now is time to get involved for the next south american power cause brasil has the same line.... same people in china....so... It is up to usa
PERU HAS STRATEGIC SOUTH AMERICAN LOCATION TO EITHER LIFT OR BLOCK ASIA, THE U.S., IS MISSING A KEY OPPORTUNITY HERE AND GAIN THAT PARTNERSHIP WITH PERU.
Its a private investment though, Peruvian government is not involved in this at all, only as supervisors, the other 40% is owned by private Peruvian/Swiss capital.
ok, we prefer the bad hand of China that builds bridges, roads, ports, technology that benefits the country in which it invests... on the other hand, the US only serves to build its military bases and to carry out its authoritarian foreign policy.... The United States is a country that will soon fall from the abyss due to its inept politics.
Inferior Chinese product : Bring Moon samples from the far side of the moon Superior American products: Can't bring back American astronauts back home from outer space ISS. 😂😂😂😂😂
@@supatooxtukey6485 Nah they can always invest. The problem is that the US wants South America and Africa to stay underdeveloped to ease US domination over them and safeguard US hegemony so competing with China in helping development in South America and Africa are against US geo politics. The most likely US action is not investment in development, but funding terror groups and sowing chaos and violence.
