We took a trip to the Tianjin Mountain area which is the first time I've ever been there. It was getting very hot in the city and we were hoping it would be a bit cooler in the mountains but unfortunately it wasn't. Temperatures were around 34° during the day! So the second day we managed to find a forest walk which was really nice apart from going down some very steep steps and getting radiated by a 5G cell tower! But it was really nice to go out of the city for a weekend, but quite a long way to drive for a short trip - it's a 2.5 our drive from where we are in Tianjin to the hotel that we stayed.
It was a very nice but simple hotel with very friendly hosts, and they provide breakfast, lunch and dinner! However, they do not provide towels or soap, so thankfully we remembered to bring a towel! The total cost per person is around £17 which I felt was very reasonable. Unfortunately though, they didn't have coffee! But thankfully I managed to find someone selling coffee in the street the next morning, which was good. It's amazing how you miss the simple things in life that you take for granted in the UK. Things like good coffee, toast, butter, croissant, cheese and stuff like this which we just find very difficult to get in China!
