Don’t underestimate the chinese navy. They have the most warships in asia and well equipped with deadly missiles. The only reason for this is to allow the carrier group a longer distance stand off for the aircraft carrier. This greatly complicates and slows mission and would not be undertaken without a valid reason.

It has a much smaller RCS than the Zumwalt and has anti-ship missiles that have a range of over 100 miles, there's a high chance it would be able to get within range to launch its missiles in time.
