BLITZ AND I HEAD INTO CHINA LAKE, VIA THE FLAGSTAFF MOUNATIN RIDGELINE TRAIL. THIS LAKE HAS BEEN ON MY RADAR SINCE WE HAD DONE CHINA CREEK EARLIER IN THE SEASON. SORRY FOR THE BLACK BARS.. I WAS ACCIDENTALLY FILMING IN FULL SCREEN AND WHEN I PUT IT ON MY 16:9 EDITING TIMELIME IT GAVE IT THE BLACK BARS. I TOUCHED MY FIRST SNOW OF 2023 ON 10/1/2023, SO THAT WAS PRETTY COOL. THE WIND WAS CONSTANTLY BLOWING SO I DIDNT TALK MUCH AND I DID NOT DRONE MUCH. ENJOY!

You're right! Those views are something else! Looks like the colors were popping too! Very scenic trip!

The funny thing is there is a mountain road behind King Mountain (that's where the cell tower is...why I had service) that will take you within a half mile of the lake...but where is the adventure in that. Yep...the colors were popping like a teenagers acne. Bazinga!

Yeah I really liked the hike in. I would do it again. In the one aerial of the lake you can see where all the moose walk through the lake...moose tracks.

Fall colors starting to come out there. Very lovely. I like Blitz watching the sunrise. 😎

yeah they are a popping. I was trying to hold up the bottom of the tarp and hold my phone with the other and film, because I didn't want Blitz to move...it was just a surreal sight to see him lying there and watching. Truth be told the night before a moose was trying to come into camp from that direction,we had to scare it off. So in reality he was probably just guarding the camp from a moose.

What a beautiful adventure! The jingle reminds me that I need to make sure the Otis too has his bear-bell on when hiking in the woods here in Nova Scotia...and hunter orange as well! Awesome stuff!! Bruce and Otis

Yep it's bow hunting season here in Montana. So, you better bet I will be festooned in orange and listening to music on my phone as I'm walking. Blitz has his red backpack and is white like lightning...so he should be o.k. But, heck you never know.

Heck yeah! That was a mighty fine video. Could feel the solitude. And those fall colors in that drone shot of the lake are amazing. Loved that sunrise with Blitz. What an awesome dog.

Solitude and moodiness is the color grading I was going for...obviously after the events of the previous week that landed me in the e.r. I was feeling very dark and alone and that's what i wanted to come of as. Obviously leaving the changing of the fall colors was supposed to symbolise that its time for change. However, I'm pretty sure im the only one who got it. Lol...I'm so weird. Yeah that was cool to lift up my tarp and see Blitz lying there just watching the sunrise and I was trying to get the camera rolling while still half asleep.

@@hyoh-wu The Universe has a way of purging things in your life (or forcing you to make changes) simply to make room for something new. We tend to get shook up by the purge/loss but later on we can look back and smile and say "oh, I get it now"...

@@hyoh-wu I must be pretty weird too as the mountains always have a deeper meaning to me than just “Wow! That’s beautiful!” Perhaps, just as the fall colors symbolized a big change, the sunrise can symbolize the beginning of something new.

Looks awesome dude. I have wanted to go there and see if I could find any remnants of the Chinese that lived there years ago.
@hyoh-wu
@hyoh-wu 11 месяцев назад
They lived more down by China Creek closer to China rapids...where they were put on the raft and bound with rope...and the raft came apart and they all drowned.

@hyoh-wu 11 месяцев назад
Also, you can actually drive up the king mountain road and get within a half more of China Lake...but where's the adventure in that?

Yeah, wow, some great country. Sweet views and I love your attitude, but how can you be anything but chipper in those mountains. Speaking of “mountains”, I laugh at all the “lakes” you visit. We call those puddles here in New England, but when friends from out west visit and I point out a mountain they invariably say “where? Behind that little hill.” All about perspective.
@hyoh-wu
@hyoh-wu 11 месяцев назад
Good, my acting classes are paying off. Yeah, that lake was a little puddle I agree.. in the one drone shot you can see all the moose trails through the middle of the lake. Had a moose sniffing around camp around 10p.m. got out of my tent and yell at him to leave.
@robbcairl3728
@robbcairl3728 11 месяцев назад
Oh damn, that’ll some real danger there. I’ve had moose stomping through my campsite in Maine and that got the adrenaline pumping. Hell, any sound while I’m in my tent gets my attention and my imagination goes wild. And then the oak tree I’m under chooses that moment to drop and acorn from 80’ and scares the crap out of me!@@hyoh-wu
