That date shake looked really good! Looks like a cool place. Another great find from Wonder Hussy. Who would have thought that Death Valley had so much going on.
We've been to many of the same places. I have a video on China Ranch also. Love that place. The Ibex Mining Camp is not far from there. Also a place called Bob and Ward's Cabin. Must see. Very nice cabin in the middle of no where. Very well kept up. Lot's of shooters go there to target practice.
Really cool place, The people there are real nice...they let me leave my truck overnight to do a short backpacking trip down the Amargosa river. That date shake was a nice payoff after the hike. Great tour as always Hussy
Sarah Jane, having just come back from staying at Sandy Valley Ranch, and taking a ride out to Tecopa, we decided to forgo going to China Ranch and see that you have this video. For sure, I wanna go back now. I live close to Indio, California, so it’s very similar to me. Monday we decided to look for some hot springs that you make so famous. Wish I could share my recent. Pics. Met BONES!! What a hoot he is!! Ciao for now, Vita Maria & Chuck
Thanks to your vid, I finally made it to China Ranch Date Farm Sun 9/6/20 it was 111° & well worth the dirt road. Date shake was GR8 & bought some other stuff. TYVM for showing these gems of the desert!!
Another cool Wonder Hussy production! We had the pleasure of being able to stay overnight at the ranch this past weekend. The number of stars in the sky and the coyotes howling off in the distance was absolutely amazing. You are correct. The shakes are delish! Sadly, we did not get a chance to go in the shop as it was closed from COVID-19 and people not respecting the social distancing guidelines. Bummer people had to ruin it for the owners and others. Regarding that cabin, for sure, it may be authentic but that spot is not its original location. In the ranch's own literature you can see it was not always there when the pictures for the brochures were taken. Local hikes around the ranch were easy and interesting. Did you see the large area of rusted strewn-about cans? Just many hundreds of rusted cans with no obvious explanation. Did you spy the several abandoned old cars just south of the gift shop?
Have you ever considered making your own line of pin-up calendars ? It would be a natural(get-it)for your entrepreneurial-type spirit, and you would be lovely to look at every day of the week ! Thanks, Frank
No one compares to Wonder Hussy! Another unique experience I never would have had without you! My favorite tour guide! You keep wandering and I'll keep living vicariously...Thank you
You look great nibbling dates and slurping , "Date Shake". I can't stop thinking about those male Date Palms. Of course it is a silly thought, I wouldn't be able to buy shoes for all of them!
I have driven past that junction so many times and not bothered stopping in. Now I feel like I have to stop by there and the Amargosa Opera House next time I go to Pahrump.
My folks were doing the snow bird thing to Yuma, Az. On the east side of the town there is a date farm that had a sign saying "Eating to many of our Date shakes will cause diabetes." I thought they were joking at first until I tried one. They're not joking!
I Love You and your Videos,,, In Arizona we say "Sa war wo" when we see Saguaro Cactus,,, and if ever in Prescott,,, we say "Preskit",,, Thank you for sharing your world with the world
Do you come across other people in isolated places who are growing nice desert gardens? I really enjoyed this video and am just wondering if other folks are having good luck with raising gardens in this area. If dates grow in your area, I bet lemons and oranges will grow there too.
I am still so mad that I left my date bread somewhere in the Tropicana the night after you took us there! Waaaaaaaahhhhhhh! :( I hope someone enjoyed it!
Have you ever gone out to the emerald dig way out in the California desert? You pay $5.00 or whatever, and you can dig for emeralds all day - and keep whatever you find. It's a loooooong drive on a dirt road. But seems to be a great adventure.
I stayed there in the summer of 2017 for 3 weeks and did some voluntary work. It was so awesome. Everybody is so nice, the landscape is amazing and you can hike. I can defenitly recommend this place!
Thank you WH,,When in Yuma ,years ago I bought a pint of dates.I kept the seeds and there is 1 special date as you that has grown well here.If you have any date seed ,Please send my way.Great video WH Thank you so much.73s
This girl is awesome. I've just subscribed and watched several episodes. I stayed glued to the screen hoping to see the elusive pit kittens. Just when I thought I was about to get lucky it seems they just got back from the groomers. Oh well , I'll keep trying.
Holly Molly, I've been watching YiuTube for years and have never seen anyone so Pretty as you. I go to Death Valley every Spring and stay at Furnace Creek Inn, Great video !! :)
I rode there on my motorcyle.... a long, tedious ride through a barren landscape. But, I'd say it was worth it. The dates are harvested late summer/early fall. IM
Wonder Hussy, you're the BABE!.. your dog is awesome too! love dates, all those date places, everything about the desert actually. the cactus are also blooming here (Arizona) and my back yard is full of tarantula holes again now that it's spring. a Harris hawk and a Peregrine falcon are searching for dinner overhead
Awesome Video WH...! so after watching ur Panamint Mountain Adventure I have a question. u & ur sister, r u guys twins? I'm asking because twice when u were panning around & i saw who I thought was you, sunglasses, hat, flannel shirt & I heard her say a couple of words & she sounded a lot like you!?!?!?!?!?!?!? Then of course I noticed that the real WH was still talking & panning her camera, I was thinking "Hey! They must be twins!" so, r ya! or aren't ya...?
Back in the late '50's and early '60's, my mother would take dates, core them, and stuff them with peanut butter, cover them with powdered sugar and they were something that I will always remember from Christmas. Might be even better if they had your special butter in them?
I'd love to try a date shake, sounds delicious! Also, that bird nest looked insane. You don't see things like that over here in the midwest. China Farms looks fun.
medjool dates kick ass, i been known to eat em like a bag of peanuts. i'm pretty sure they're highly addictive, since i can never just put down the bag. any whole date is the ultimate packing food, high energy, if kept dry will last literally until you eat them all. if you get over heated, or just wiped, a handful with a coconut water will really restore you.
this is so depressing I have been to Baker , there is a storage unit place there or there was, the owner had a grey mustache, man, this sucks, I hate money and how it relates to freedom , I need a pistol.
@ 8:10 you past a 'sacred datura' or 'devils apple' It provides the most intense 'dream' like trip that is much more potent than mushrooms or LSD. Use with people who know or use great caution when brewing tea. peace
