After growing for three months, China's manufacturing activity fell unexpectedly in April. That is bad news for a country that is trying to bounce back from just 3% growth last year.

Lol, I don't know how accurate that is, but it makes sense. Everyone that has any real money in China gets it out of the country because they know China's economy will collapse one day. The people on the inside know that their economy is not sustainable.

That's true, and from what I have read, many in Northern Italy That was one way COVID made it to Italy, because Wuhan is also know for the rag biz (clothing) and N Italy has same problem as rest of EU, LOW birth rate, so many businesses were bought by Chinese companies, and they fly in workers While China banned flights within China, they didn't to the EU.... *Many Italian "brands" are still made in Italy, just no Italian is involved in the production!* In one of China's neighboring countries, they bought all the Oil refineries All the local workers were replaced.... A working population, is a happy population...

I disagree the USA sure hasn't made any attempt at bringing industry back and all the brand names that were originally originated in the US. Heck I just purchased fruit of the Loom underbrifches and they were made in El Salvador and new blue jeans Baglidish & a shirt India just opened up a can Planters mixed nuts Hienz & Kraft foods Vietnam, Turkey, Mogadishu, India, to name a few all in one can of nuts. Who regulates food safety in those countries because the FDA or Department of agriculture or the USDA isn't present in those countries how do we not know they are lying on the ground in rat and monkey shit? Then shipped to the USA. And almost half of the generic and name brands here are being processed in Mexican and other country while our country grows mostly silliage and corn for Ethonal can't eat that can we. Our pork futures owned by Chinese here on our soil.

Hello , do you know anything about economics? You said there is a global slowdown ... yes a global slowdown . What has it got to do with whether China is still a factory of the world? The factory is still there , only lower business. China do depend on exports but a lot of its money earned from exports are now invested in BRI, Loans and many assets. KNow economics.... A company sells and made money . Lots of money it has and lots of assets like BRI all over the world and all these assets are generating huge amount of money for China. India has what asset? None.... So China like a rich man , faces a temporary slow down. So what . China has the money to stand the slowdown before it picks up again. Globally there are lots of lay offs now...and countries outside China are facing problems not China . They are loaded with cash esp those Chinese who saved during the Covid lock down Now they are travelling in huge numbers saving many countries economies with tourism.

You write as if BRI is a big win for China and it probably would have been if their ideas would actually come to fruition. Around 30 countries have defaulted on their BRI payments and show little capacity to pay back any time soon. Further BRI infrastructure is not making any money. For instance, China’s high speed train is currently losing $1Billion and is never likely to make profit. Likewise, other infrastructure in BRI is underused and non profit making. It is simply a drain on China’s economy.
