I love the filmakers love for people. I am awed by the women cheese-makers. I am speechless with admiration for their artistry. This my favorite part of this video series. Seeing the human technology of people earning a living often by producing beautiful, useful things. I am so impressed and drawn to this.
Hello Yan ! I Have Been There in 2019, Also Visiting Lijiang and I Did The Beautiful 3 Days Tiger Leaping Gorge Trek. Going to Dali Again This October and From There To Lhasa, Tibet. All Thanks to You for Showing Us Tibet Months Ago ! Have Fun and Take Care. Fernando.
You can really tell from the crowd that even without international tourists, on a typical weekday, the tourists from other provinces and places are enough to sustain domestic tourism. Maybe that's why China doesn't bother to advertise itself overseas as much as other countries about their own tourism. Not to forget also that the scare-mongering about China in western countries in their local media is enough to scare away the faint-hearted and misinformed about how dangerous the country is. So any international tourists are mostly people from East Asia and SE Asia, where we generally know what's fake and what's not. eg. personal safety was never an issue when I travel there but as in any foreign places, one still has to be cautious.
never once heard that China is dangerous in "western countries." Just the opposite. But thanks for letting us know what a good open minded person YOU are
@@VelkePivo US State Department's advisory on China is "avoid". Shrug :). I came anyway - I had no intention to live by the rules of the State Department and the FBI :) I just came back from a 4-week swirl of China, covering most parts of it, thanks to DiDi and bullet trains - but I regularly failed to book train tickets due to the sheer volume of domestic travelers. So the poster wasn't wrong - I actually don't see how China can accommodate the pre-pandemic foreign travelers volume. Even on regular non-holiday weekdays, places are packed with crowds. I was genuinely happy for the rural elders who were never able to travel outside of their villages and towns, but now all over China via the affordable super infrastructures.
@@VelkePivo Where you from? Maybe not in yr country, but in some european countries and I know for sure in the US. The Biden govt even advised people against going there to China, saying it's dangerous.
Glad to see you on your bike again showing us unseen China. The places in this video are beautiful! No woder Chinese tourists come here. Drone viewpoint much appreciated, too. Thank you, Yan.
The United States and its allies have issued travel warnings to China, intimidating their citizens not to travel to China and spreading a lot of false information about China. In fact, China is one of the safest countries in the world. The real danger is in Europe and the United States. There are robberies everywhere, and it is easy to be stolen when traveling to Europe and the United States.
It is always a treat when you are in Yunnan. Although I am in love with all of China, I have to admit that Yunnan is my "mistress". 😊 The people, the scenery, the food, the many minorities with different cultures, and languages. In short, the diversity in Yunnan is overwhelming. Yunnan never disappoints! ❤❤❤
I am alway amazed by the amount and type of fresh food that is prepared and sold in the street markets. The rose petal cheese wrapped around bamboo sticks was amazing! I love to see out of the way places everywhere. I watch your videos at night and always fall asleep during the beautiful and relaxing drone shots, so I watch them again the next day! It is like slipping into sleep on a cloud!
Thank you Yan for this Dali tour. When I was about 6 or 7, my parents brought us children to watch a movie in a cinema in Singapore. The movie is called Five Golden Flowers Wu Duo Jin Hua. At that time I couldn’t really appreciate the show. But as an adult I watch it again and again because it is such a nice romantic comedy about Ah Perng and the five Jin Huas. The movie was shot in Yunnan Dali, and I remember there was mention about the Zhan Shan mountain and the Er Hai… not sure is that a real sea or a large lake. And of course there is the famous Butterfly Spring Hu Tie Quan. Gives me goosebumps seeing Yunnan Dali. Thank you once again ❤
You are a strong & healthy person. Full of determination, and bravery. Travel by yourself in a mid range motorbike from one place to another in whole of China. Show us alot of interesting places, culture , geographical and historical places. People's that you meet are down to earth friendly & helpful. All the best in your travelling.
Have a safe journey! Dali Ancient City seems so busy. We were recently in Dali but stayed in Shuanglang Old Town and really enjoyed it 😊 We miss it already!
I was pleased to see that you did not spend a lot of time filming the more touristy areas, like Dali Old Town South Gate. Nice to see Beimen, where people from Dali Old Town still live.
Greetings Miss Yan and also I thanks Mr Flo from accompanying You in past trips. I thanks You so much for this trip. I'm a big fan of Yunnan food. Actually at the cheese making process they used enzymes from young bauvine stomach to curdled the process. It called rennet and also lactic acid bacteria. I loved cheeses, specially artisan made, and also mushrooms🍄(the one You was holding in Yourhand "MOREL", very expensive. . Really amazing trip. I can't wait for the next episodes. Just cautious ⚠️ tip, while traveling mountains roads, Be careful it is melting season. What I'm trying to point out is land and mud slides. So be careful. I trust Your braveness. God Bless and Protect You through Your journeys. Love from S.F. Bay Area 🇺🇸.
Another cracking vlog ❤👏🏼 You are so talented all this must be hard work! As a French dying to visit China I had no idea about the cheese there! I’m saving this on my Google map as I really would love to visit this unique and beautiful province of Yunnan I m looking forward to shaxi to lijiang Thank you 🙏🏼 Sabrina 🇫🇷🇬🇧
Its so nice to see you, as always. You are like a daughter to me. A joy 🤗 I too loved travelling in China and seeing your films brings so many memories and feeling back. I'm back living in the UK after many years over there. Mainly HK.
A great start to her motor scooter journey, entertaining and informative. She covers history, food, architecture, crafts, markets, prices, weather. Maps are used to good effect. Yan seems to do her homework so she is well prepared and can speak intelligently. Unlike many travel vloggers, Yan makes videos more about the place and less about herself. Two thumbs up!
This ia a beautiful country, beautiful people, beautiful city, and people a also nice and friendly. And full of tradisional clothes. I'm a very very excited to see this.
Thank you so much Yan for these beautiful videos of your travels. You are doing what I wish I had done at your age..and only did after I retired and enjoyed it so much. You are taking this old woman on big adventures through your videos. I look forward to the next one. You are very special.
Hello Yan, thank you for taking us along. For telling us the history of the places. And the special buildings, landscape, climate and food that are different from other regions. I see you got another 25 K subscribers the last month.
Nagyon érdekes és szép helyeken jársz! Élvezetesek a videóik, amiket csinálsz. Ügyes és kedves vagy! Nekem nagyon élvezetes, hogy Budapestről ilyen helyeken járok veled. Köszönöm ❤
Hi! Just a quick note to thank you for your WONDERFUL videos. I just met you through... the Swedish girl married to a Chinese with 2 boys... you know... I also follow a fellow Spaniard, JABIERTZO, who's also married to a Chinese national and have a daughter AND makes travel videos in China. The quality of info in your videos is amazing! Thank you!!
Your videos are exceptional. The music with the drone sequences are superb. Thank you very much for educating your viewers. This is truly wonderful. Safe journey.
I appreciate that you show the map ! For us foreigners in Europe who have never been to China, we get a better idea what you are talking about . I love that you get around on your bike. Be safe,….. much respect !!!
Dali is very beautiful full of colourful flowers, fruits, food varieties and ancient cultural sites. Thanks for sharing your amazing excursions. God bless your good works.!😃
Glad we're back in brilliant China Yan,your videos are so interesting, most enjoyable, Dali is wonderful, you give us lots of information, the markets are very interesting & friendly, big selection of natural food, lovely place to live. Thanks
Thank you for showing us how beautiful and amazing China really is. I love your drone photography, especially, and you’re everyone’s friend, a great storyteller and teacher too. You are the best!
We went to a cooking class in Dali but before that, the teacher took us grocery shopping at the open market and bought ingredients needed. Enjoyed my day there.
If someone ever asked you again about the best Chinese region for food.. It's I definitely Guangzhou.. Cantonese food its the best... Cantonese food is they most diverse of all and encompass all the five flavors unlike other region like for example Sichuan food that focuses just on numbing spicy ness... Sichuan chef can't cook Cantonese food.. But Cantonese chef definitely can cook spicy food.. When it comes to seafood.. Cantonese chef are the best in handling them.. Sauces.. Steaming..frying.. Dim sum.. You name it.. Roasted pig.. Chicken duck..
In Taiwan, we have quite a few Yunnan restaurants and they are very popular and my family visits one of them regularly! I first heard the name of Dali when I was a kid from the popular old martial arts novel "Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils" 天龍八部 where the main character 段譽 is from Dali Kingdom's royal family...XD!! Yunnan has always been a dream destination for me! The market looks absolutely amazing!! Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for the trip as always, Yan. Really love the scenery of rural China. Somehow it makes me feel nostalgic even though I've never been there before.
Another great video, I really love watching your posts. I am really enjoying seeing Unseen China it shows good people just living their lives in rural.settings without the hustle and bustle of big cities. You have a beautiful country.
Unique as ever Yan, you are unique in your own skin, sublimely so. A very crowded place nowadays. Incredible preparation/presentation of food. My question is what happens at the end of the day with leftovers! Never covered is. In my place and communities, we have composting areas, even in Europe they will compost even in towns, openly steaming, the sweet smell of continuing life. For large populations, there must be some obvious answers? I remember the lake well with its islands. Alofting the drone, as usual, gives a brave perspective on communities in this modern era. Thankyou.............
I watch your presentations from the island of Crete in Greece. It is very pleasant to see how people live in the provinces of China. Thank you very much for that
Don’t come in Chinese public holiday and school holiday. It will be too much people everywhere 😂.Autumn and Spring are best time for traveling in China. Not a lot people and weather are really good for most of cities.
Hi. Seeing this video brings back many memories. I first went to Dali in 2006 and then visited dozens of times between 2009 and 2014 when I lived in Kunming. I even lived in Dali for 1 year from 2014 to 2015. I also went to Shaxi many times. The first time, I rode my bicycle (not motor bike, just bicycle) from Dali to Shaxi. I think I took the same route you did, over the mountain. Thats the "back way to Shaxi." It looks like the road has been improved since I was there!
We enjoyed this episode so much thanks for sharing. The. Cheese segment could have been longer and who would have ever thought of rose petals in cheese. Now off to in garden to pick rose petals to make, Rose petal jam. And yet again your dronography is stunning.❤
