China tests Type 625E short-range air defense system (SHORAD)

The Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA Army) has just tested the Type 625E short-range air defense system which is predicted to be the closest competitor to the Russian Pantsir-S1 system.
This mobile air defense system will begin rolling out in 2022, developed by China South Industries Group Corporation (CSGC) and China North Industries Group Corporation (Norinco).
The Type 625E is designed to address the short-range air defense (SHORAD) gap in the PLA Army's multi-layered air defense strategy.
The system is equipped with weapons in the form of a 25 mm six-barrel Gatling cannon, with an effective range of up to 2.5 km and a maximum altitude of 2 km.
The system is mounted on an eight-wheeled, high-mobility chassis, similar to the ZBL-08 wheeled infantry fighting vehicle, providing high mobility over a wide range of terrain, enabling rapid deployment and repositioning in response to battlefield needs.

I question this platform's ability to put those 25mm rounds on-target when I see the entire chassis sway with recoil @2:10. No way in hell you are going to convince me that doesn't impact accuracy of that cannon against a flying, maneuvering helicopter or drone down range....against a building, yeah great stuff!

Even during World War II, the main gun of the M4 Sherman tank featured vertical stabilization, meaning its accuracy did not rely on the absolute stability of the vehicle's chassis. For a weapon system like the 625e, capable of conducting anti-aircraft fire while moving at low speeds, it is even less feasible to depend on the stability of the vehicle's chassis for accuracy. Instead, it must use a fire control system with dual stabilization to compensate for disturbances caused by recoil.

@@vectorthrust7417 yea....so absolutely no need for a stable chassis at all and it can jump up and down on the suspension as it fires a full auto-burst. I am sure your stabilization system (especially one based upon the M4 from WW2!) will be able to fully compensate when trying to hit a 10" drone at 1000 yards...not.

@@GrumblingGrognard With 3P ammunition, it can establish a no-fly zone for drones within a 2km radius. And it can achieve this while driving at low speed, thanks to its modern fire control system. Your understanding of warfare needs updating-World War I ended over a century ago.

The problem with 625 is he is lazy AF, hungry all the time, never stop making sandwiches and didn't bother to sell them, has low confident in a lot of fields, and a coward (as long as you don't piss him off about his sandwich). Unlike his cousin, 626. 625's pro is he is fluent in languages, has speech intellect, generally not a bad person, and he is good at making sandwiches (get moody when cannot make sandwiches or forced to make terrible sandwiches). Unlike his cousin, 626. China is better off MAKING SANDWICHES since Rou Jia Mo is the earliest known sandwich.

I find it strange that the China has developed so many weapons but even countries like Pakistan are no longer buying. In fact, the China military industry has only decreased sales globally despite trying to sell to anyone. We always hear talk of "looks good" but unreliable and breakdown all the time. Like that new Chinese tank that blew up killing a Pakistani soldier. The drones that fail and are always in need of repairs. The many incidents of countries trying to sell or return such weapons. No thanks, I would buy Turkish weapons or certainly South Korean if possible. If budget isn't an issue US weapons are the best. That or buy used but PLA doesn't even know if these work well in combat.

Second, Pakistan doesn't buy everything because small countries have limited defense budgets. Are you naive to think that Pakistan can print money to buy weapons like the US?
