Probably China is the country with the highest growth potential in the baseball world. They have a lot of young and growing players.

Some of the players didn't even appear to be Chinese, but maybe Korean or Japanese diaspora with half Chinese ancestory playing for the PRC. Most appeared to be Han Chinese though. But I agree, it just depends on how much the PRC wants to develop youth baseball and promote collegiate or professional leagues to develop the game.

@Rowbare it's unbelievably unpopular here in China😭 all my baseball knowledge and interest comes from Japanese animes...i think this is because there's scarcely any baseball stadiums and any baseball course from primary school to colleges....

actually I don’t think baseball isn’t popular just because it’s western sport😂. By comparison there are much larger populations watching basketball, football or even Formula 1.maybe more people can be attracted if someone enters MLB, like Yao Ming in NBA

No, He is not Korean. It's a Korean notorious bad habit to claim every Japanese person/thing they envy as Korean out of an inferior complex. They are blatantly racist especially when it comes to Japan, too. They brainwash the people from a young age that the Japanese are inferior to Koreans in every possible way and seriously believe so many weird made-up stories like that. Here's an example statement made by a professional wrestler who is a naturalized Japanese from Korea: "Akira Maeda was taught by his Korean grandmother, who was a typical nationalist and a Korean peninsula supremacist, that the Japanese people who appear on TV and in the newspapers were actually "zainichi(Koreans residing in Japan)" and "former Koreans." When she gathered with her compatriots, she would tell those around her the same thing about well-known and outstanding Japanese people. As time went on, he dismiss her claims, but there was a time when he believed them. " He also confessed on another TV program that she told him if you saw talented people, they were all Koreans, and even once told Carl Lewis was Korean.

1次ラウンドで日本戦ガチる国がいるのかって話もあるだろうけど、中国野球これから伸びてくんじゃないかって期待できるくらいは良かったわね

思ったより強かったよ本当に 特に守備に関してはレベル高いなと思った

足元掬われかねない場面が何度かあったしな 本当に中国は強かったよ あれだけピンチを背負って7回4失点は凄い、守備も投手もよく頑張ったと思う

でも対中国は過去三大会でもっとも点差が開いてんだよな まぁ今回のジャパンはドリームチームだから普通にコールドやと思ってたし、 中国が健闘したと言えば健闘したのかもしれない

I really enjoy watching the Koshien tournament for high-schoolers. It's a sacred thing and I love the respect he always shows for the sport and field.
