The second one in particular, the inning ends when the Pirates first base man tags first base when he's a few steps away with the ball. Instead a runner scores and a guy ends up on second. Send him to the minors.
One thing that I always remember as a player and an umpire is to always think 5 steps ahead of any play. The best coach I ever had taught me to always be mindful of where every play could possibly go. It's a game of chess. Love baseball and I sorely miss playing.
Not all but many of these are simply due to lazy, go through the motion defensive mentality. It's so rare to see offenses actually take advantage of these defensive lapses since baseball is so conservative just waiting for home runs.
@@seantimmons5900 Got it, I knew it wasn't a force out at 2nd but I wasn't sure if the runner could still leave the bag once the ball has arrived at the base. I guess our little league coaches told us not to leave the bag cuz we would probably get tagged.
Good comp but every time I see these I NEVER see Brendan Ryan's infield triple and I have no idea how it's the greatest smart baserunning move of all time and its never in one of these
