It isnt meant to be restricted to Taiwan, it is expected to expand to include Taiwan allies which would include Japan, USA, etc, which means that it is expected to ignite World War Three because this is suppose to escalate throughout the region. Australia will jump in. Economically, this will adversely affect the global economy since the world relies on China for many imports. China has many levarage over Taiwan and also USA and most Western economies.

@Cool Sparkz what US can do is only provide weapons to Taiwan like they did to Ukraine. But providing Weapons to Taiwan is not gonna be easy as it is compared to Ukraine cuz providing weapon or any supplies to an island surrounded by tons of Chinese ships and jets would not be possible.

All military capabilities of Taiwan are on it's island but China's all over their country so this is not the same. So assuming for example Chinas' al 1200 aircrafts next to Taiwan is not realistic and this applies to any large country.

True, but Taiwan will have more difficulty replenishing lost equipment compared to china. Taiwan is sort of hopeless compared to China if there is no USA or other countries intervention. Japan plus ASEAN and India without USA might be able to stalemate China for the short term and starve it out in the long term. If USA intervenes China is unable to invade but it would become unpopular in 1 or 2 years considering it’s almost impossible to make any meaningful progress in Chinese mainland with its large population and area, it would be giant Afghanistan.

China also have many vulnerable locations and Chinese military troops need to cover 100 times more area throughout the country. They can't focus everything on Taiwan since there are many target that Taiwan Supersonic missiles can target and cause massive damages on China. Three George Dam alone would cause the flood of several major cities and concentration of Chinese military locations if it gets destroy.

i'm currently serving in an INDIAN TERRITORIAL ARMY (indian army) so we barely have access to most of the advance Military gears like US, CHINA,UK etc. We only have level 3 vest, level 2 helmet and a Gun without any Optic scope just an Iron sight. That's all. Only some(may be less than 5% of IA) have access to those gears. And our country doesn't have level 4 helmet & vest at all. When i imagine being in a face to face real combat with china our gears will not be match with them at all. Especially our INSAS Rifle is not good enough for real combat it always got Jammed once you fire 3 magazine. It's really concerning dude . Our gears has a huge difference with US . Please don't mention at all . When i saw other countries military gears and ours IT BROKE MY HEART MAN 😓 we really need to dispose INSAS RIFLE and CHANGE WITH Other assault Rifle ASAP . It's one of the worst gun to use in war. Compare with US military gears ,our indian army Combat Gears, Guns & Protection Vest is nothing . Its like we are only having guns , but without scope, and nightvision. Its sad and our GUNS LIKE INSAS RFLE is too long and heavy, alway Jammed when we fire . our government really need to change this gun as soon as possible.

It's amateurish to compare militaries like this. Let's be a little more realistic. Compare the military strength of only the divisions of China you expect to be fighting vs. the forces of Taiwan. Take into account geography, logistics, logic, regional politics, financial fallouts, How many troops can actually cross, etc. You can't expect China's entire military might to go up against Taiwan right from the beginning, right? Raw numbers doesn't reflect real power. Not all of those 35000 APC and 5000 tanks can be brought into combat. At least not all at once. It also depends very much on how would China conduct the attack, if they go in half-heartedly like Russia does in Ukraine, Taiwan might survive longer. But most of all, would americans, australians, british, and japanese want to be sent and die for Taiwan? This will be the determining factor, because without western support, even if they fight bravely, it will be thermopylae 2.0.

From Taiwan's perspective, it's about how many chinese ship can be sunk before all of their navy sunk. Even the ground war might be quick too, if China has no regard for civilian lives. The Taiwanese military WILL BE fighting from civilian areas, placing their weapons WITH the civilians, because there is no space in Taiwan. China can just carpet bomb everything and blame the Taiwanese military for using human shields, or they can risk a very long, but extremely surgical operation like Russia does, to minimize civilian deaths. It will be a bloodbath anyways, if i were China, i'll just make sure it's on Taiwan's side. If i were Taiwan, the target is to inflict a terrible attrition rate.

before comparing military might of both the countries, it must also be considered that China has much larger territories to protect. China has border disputes with multiple countries, so naturally China will have larger fleet of tanks, military forces, fighter aircrafts etc. whereas Taiwan has small territory to protect, no border disputes except China. in addition, we should also look at the Russia and Ukrain fights. Russia being bigger Military might than China and Ukrain being almost no military might than Taiwan, Russia is still not completely successful. So China will have think thousands of times before attacking Taiwan. China will have to be prepared trade issues from America, EU, India and other countries. So I don't think China will attack Taiwan any soon except China is ready to get its economy in huge trouble.

China having other borders is mostly irrelevant. They can have as many men as they want but at the end of the day, what is going to matter is how much of a force can they get across the straight and on the ground without getting blown to pieces. Comparing the Russian invasion of Ukraine is of little use except that China uses Russian hardware or cheap knockoffs. Ukraine is literally right next door and Russian soldiers can literally just walk across the border. Taiwan is separated by a 100 mile straight that will be patrolled by ships, subs and defended by artillery, mines and helicopters and other aircraft. China has a fucking task on it's hand invading Taiwan, which it has attempted, and failed, to do so in the past.

One of the few nations to attempt massive beach landings like that is the US, and it has been a while. They are NOT easy. Even with huge battleships for support to take out fortifications, which China doesn't have, the defenders will STILL be dug in like ticks. Taiwan happens to be very mountainous and easily defendable. It'll be worse than Okinawa.

i'm currently serving in an INDIAN TERRITORIAL ARMY (indian army) so we barely have access to most of the advance Military gears use by US,UK,CHINA, UKRAINE etc. We only have level 3 vest, level 2 helmet and a Gun without any Optic scope just an Iron sight. That's all. Only some(may be less than 5% of IA) have access to those gears. And our country doesn't have level 4 helmet & vest at all. When i imagine being in a face to face real combat with china our gears will not be match with them at all. Especially our INSAS Rifle is not good enough for real combat it always got Jammed once you fire 3 magazine. It's really concerning dude . Our gears has a huge difference with US . Please don't mention at all . When i saw other countries military gears and ours IT BROKE MY HEART MAN 😓 we really need to dispose INSAS RIFLE and CHANGE WITH Other assault Rifle ASAP . It's one of the worst gun to use in war. Compare with US military gears ,our indian army Combat Gears, Guns & Protection Vest is nothing . Its like we are only having guns , but without scope, and nightvision. Its sad and our GUNS LIKE INSAS RFLE is too long and heavy, alway Jammed when we fire . our government really need to change this gun as soon as possible.
