Idk why but I just got so randomly obsessed with getting a chinchilla, I’m literally saving up for 2 rn. I’ve done more research over a chinchilla then I ever have with anything ever
My chinnie always reaches for the fan when it's on. Since it spins he runs around his cage trying to catch some wind. Once I put it in front of his cage and he just stood there with his paws on the wire of the cage 😂
you should do some dos and donts for chinchilla toys because I got a chinchilla two weeks ago and I feel she needs more toys. Also your videos are so helpful and I love watching them!!💗
Please do chinchilla Do's &Dont's on toys and treats because I feel like my boy needs more toys but I don't know much about what is safe and what is not.
McKenna and Kali McEwen I have a video already on Unhealthy/ Unsafe Chinchilla Treats and then also one called Healthy Chinchilla Treats and those might be very helpful to you. They are separate videos but both cover a lot😊
I have a couple video ideas for you! •How to oil your chinchilla wheel •How to chinchilla proof your room •Trying popular chinchilla websites/brands/toys/products, etc •The sacrifices of owning a chinchilla •The hidden truth behind owning a chinchilla/what people and friends don't see in chinchilla owning •A compilation of cute Merlin videos! •Recommended cleaning supplies/brands for cage cleaning •How to prepare a chin babysitter for how to take care of your chin •How to keep your chin supplies organized •Common chinchilla illnesses/injuries
Lex Bishop yeah but even good wheels or "silent" wheels sometimes squeak and make really loud noises after you have had them for a while. It was just a suggestion 🤷♀️
hi i just really wanted to tell you that you are a really good youtuber and that you helped me to give my chinchila a beter life 😘😘 and besides keep up the good work 😘😘
I’ve had this sudden obsession with chinchillas. The past day I’ve been doing loads of non stop research so I could get one. My mum said yes but I don’t have anywhere to put it 😭
Holly Hukin if you do get a chinchilla it’s actually a lot of work because i’m from new york so we have all 4 seasons so you have to make sure they’re always warm (not to warm) they don’t need a wheel!! and you have to dedicate a lot of your time towards them because they’re also living creatures!!
Literally love your channel!! You've been a great help! Thinking of starting a chinchilla Channel too with my twin sister. PS when are you doing a face reveal?? :) ❤️❤️😉🙂
Your videos are sooo helpful and I definitely feel more prepared for when I get my chin❤️ I have one question though, I’m really confused on what I should do for bedding. Should I use the fleece if I don’t know how to sew or don’t have a sewing machine? What bedding should I use and what is safe?
Johanna Briggs I have a video called All About Chinchilla Beddings that could be useful for you. It’s one of my older videos but the information is still valid. Also, is there maybe someone that you know that could sew it for you? I know how to sew but i always ask my grandmother to sew my liners for me because I feel like her sewing is a lot better and my liners last longer. If not, you can actually buy ready-made liners for the Critter and Ferret Nation cages online either on Etsy shops, Zoey And Lilo’s Toy Box or TJ’s Chinchilla Supplies😉💕
Hey a rescue near me has 2 chinchillas avalible and they have been there for a while. They are a bonded pair, and I do have the funds for 2 chinchillas. I also want to be fully prepared for them and give them the best life possible. But is the cage you have (critter nation) big enough for 2 chinchillas?
You should do a more detailed video on how to make ones chinchilla cage fun for their chinchilla or to keep them entertained for people who might sometimes be busy and might not give them as much play time
I’m finally getting a chinchilla on Christmas Eve (that’s when she will be ready to be away from her mom) she is a light gray chin. And this video really helped me find a cage for her. I’ve watched all your videos. Does anyone have names cause I can’t think of the right one?
( If you have any questions I'm a Vet Tech and owned many chinchillas) Chinchillas are from high up in the Andies mountains they're perfectly fine in cold weather and their fur adapts to it and should not be kept in temperatures above 60 degrees it will kill them I've lost 2 chinchillas to that being down south it gets hot asf. So Drafty places and in front of fans are perfectly fine and actually safer for them if you live in hot states or countries. Sunlight is also fine as long as they're in cool areas. DON'T stick them in front or near heaters they can and will overheat, Along with chinchillas are suicidal and can die from heartache/depression. I had a mom whose baby died they were paired together the baby ( young adult) died of heat stroke ( we have AC but it was a super hot summer) the mom gave up & would bite & piss on people (that's their defense mechanism is to stand up and pee on you) refused to eat or do anything she was devastated ( she had twins one male one female) we couldn't stick her in the males cause babies but they were right next to each other. Our remaining boy (his father also died of heat stroke after moving down south yrs ago) got super depressed and chewed off the tip of his tail in the night we found out the next morning and fixed him up. He's fine now and happy. Also, DO NOT BRUSH THEM it ruins their fur.
The Chinchilla Notebook You're welcome as someone else who loves chinchillas I want them safe and to help any misinformed owners if I can. If you have any questions feel free to ask.
My chinchilla is 4 or 5 years old and she has a cage that's about 4 feet tall. I have fleece, wood things, lava ledges, and sadly plastic and no fleece on the bottom level. I have been saving for a chin spin, toys, ledges, etc. I was young when I got the chinchilla and I have made mistakes
How about a do's and don'ts video about every day( ex. don't give them tons of treats during playtime. do make sure that that you give your chinchilla an unlimited access to hay and refill when needed.) I hope this helps. BIG fan, love you.
moldy bagel dont eat me. I have two videos on Unhealthy/Unsafe Chinchilla treats and then one on healthy ones that could help. Also, I have a few Top 5 Chinchilla Toys videos 😉
My chinchilla doesn't care most of the time. Sometimes he cares because I take his poops away, and he gets real protective of his turds when I bring the vacuum cleaner around. He starts chasing the vacuum cleaner too. But he's never been afraid of it. Honestly, my chinchilla is super relaxed and mellow, if I fill up his bowl with fresh pellets, he wouldn't care if I had a tap-dancing troupe practice in the same room. If there's a new sound that he will be hearing a lot (air conditioner in the summer; different vacuum cleaners all year round; the furnace downstairs in the winters; the plumbing), I introduce it to him by first giving him fresh pellets. And then I close the door to the room, and start using the appliance in another room. Then a few days later, I'll open the door to his room and make the same racket. I slowly bring the noise closer and closer to him till it's in the same room as him. But because I do it gradually and with food, he doesn't develop any negative associations with the sound so he isn't afraid.
i will probably get a chin for my bday but i’m scared about it over heating my humidity is 61% and my temperature is 79 please tell me this is a good thing for chinns
Unfortunately not :( A good rule of thumb for chin temperatures is to not have the humidity and temperature added together equal 150. So for example, 61% humidity and 79 temperature (Im assuming 79 degrees F) the total of both numbers is 140...this is borderline dangerous temperature/humidity for a chinchilla. My channel has my chinchilla and she is 9 years old. I've had her for 8 years. Hope that helps!
Kenadie’s Fun journey I try to change it whenever it’s needed but it’s been long overdo so I did it just the other week. Whenever it starts getting hard and grainy rather than soft and dusty, it’s time to change it😉
Johanna Briggs So like when you have to go to one house and leave the chinnie at the other for a while without you? Hmmm idk really what to do about that. Is there a house you are at more often? 💕💕
The Chinchilla Notebook yes my moms but I’m my chin will be at my dads because my moms scared of chinchillas😂 do you think I could just ask my dad to feed her while I’m gone and just getting a bigger cage so it has jumping space?
do you mean that your chinchilla dont like you if your chinchilla is new then its fine but if you had it for a long time and its scared of you maybe it doesnt like being social with people all chinchillas have different personalitys btw sorry for my spelling miistakes
My chinchilla's cage us 10 inches short from 5 feet 😊 and I don't have a fleece liner on the mesh I Might as well just be a bad chinchilla owner 😭help me pleaae
Floating Duck keep in mind cats carry a serious amount of bacteria that could have gotten in the bloodstream regardless of it the cut is healing or not. I wouldn’t recommend having your chinchilla bear your cat ever again
Floating Duck I don’t recommend you keep your chinchilla near your cat. It’s dangerous for their health and safety and also, they are prey animals and could get very stressed out by having a predator lash out like that💕💕
Problem: I want chinchillas, rats, _and_ ferrets but they're all social and need fellows of their own kind _and_ are all more expensive than I can afford _and_ you can't socialize ferrets together with rodents _and_ I simply don't have the space to dedicate to any of them aside from maybe the rats. Solution: RU-vid pet care videos
Hey! I just started a RU-vid channel, Chinchilla Chronicles. I was hoping that you could give me a shout out. I also would like a video on do's and dont's of chinchilla treats.
