About Merlin: Merlin is two years old and I've had him since he was only four months old. He's a standard gray with a spicy attitude and he LOVES the camera (except on his bad fur days). Merlin doesn't get along with other chins so he lives alone in his cage with me and my family spoiling him rotten.
About Me: I'm just a girl that loves and cares about people and animals. I love my chickens and my chinchilla to pieces! Someday maybe I'll own a chinchilla rescue but for now I'll stick with helping others with their chinnies❤️ I do love animals, but I value a human life above all and I love my Lord Jesus Christ with all my heart. Have a wonderful day!:)
I just found your channel today! Just in time to catch your goodbye. I’m so sorry for your beautiful babies. They won’t understand. How are they going to take a sudden move without you or their friends? I just watched another video explaining how each small step must be taken slowly, but you don’t have that much time. I would love to have one of your precious babies, but I live in Virginia. Best of luck to you in all your future activities! 💔❤️🩹
Hi I have 2 girl chinchillas and they are twins. I was wondering if you have any suggestions of an Online shop for Chinchilla toys and wheels or stuff ? That would be very helpful
I didn’t know these things got this big, how old are these two? I’ve never seen chinchillas that large lol And why is the grey one so aggressive? This is making me reconsider my chinchilla venture 😭 They’re bigger than rabbits
When I got a chinchilla I block up all the wires too my stuff and I let it free roam in my room and I put the chinchilla in its cage with the doors to the cage open so it could get use to it
In East Texas, we are experiencing a power outage caused by severe storms. Tomorrow's temperatures are expected to be in the 90s, so I am feeling anxious and seeking advice on how to keep my chinchilla comfortable. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Furry animals get to decide when they will let you pet them. My cat is soft but I can't always pet him. He purrs a lot too. But he spends a lot of time in the window. And I have to poop 💩 scoop his box. At least he pees and poops in it.
Hi, can you please help me? My chinchilla doesn't trust me and when i let her out and i want to put her back in her cage, how can i put her back without scaring/hurting her?
I made a mistake with mine a few days ago I let my cousin hold him and my chinchilla tried to crawl on my cousin and like jump on him but my cousin then tried to throw the chinchilla (my cousin is older than me) but I caught him and my cousin isn’t allowed near him anymore.
It’s crazy how different than they are than rats even though they’re both rodents, rats can literally eat anything as treats. That’s why they’re on every continent because they’re hardy.
Chinchillas are a great pet for anyone who's allergic to other pets, like I am. Unfortunately, they do require a lot of hay and if you're allergic to pets, you're most likely also allergic to hay. That was a tough perdicament to be in. I put my Chillas needs before my own comfort, but it was so annoying when all they did was pee in the hay and not actually eat it. So keep that in mind whe you get your pets for allergy reasons, you might be allergic to their food and supplies. If you're unable or unwilling to provide all the things a pet requires for optimal health, don't get a pet. Both my boys lived to be around 12 years old. I miss them a lot even if it's been 15 years.
unfortunately made some terrible mistakes with small pets when i was young as well- we probably should not have owned small pets that young (i think i was in third grade) and am shocked we didnt hurt the poor things from dropping or throwing them - later we owned gerbils and a cat at the same time and unfortuately did not have proper cages they were the cheap plastic ones and very light, so our cat was able to knock them off the table and break them open - eventually we secured the room but he did kill one gerbil and badly injure another. we also underestimated the amount of food to leave them when we went camping once and there was a cannibalism incident and it was very shocking the smaller gerbil killed her mom so we housed her alone after that. we also had one escape into the electrical vent once. being able to watch youtube videos about proper pet care is painful in hindsight but such a valuable resource for future pet owners to do better. it really is depressing pet stores are allowed to sell plastic balls still they should be banned. the ventalation is bad, they overheat, cant breath, and their claws could get stuck in the air holes and cause them to break a leg. i hope some day animal husbandry is taught in schools because its true a lot of kids wants pets but the amount of misinformation for even well meaning owners is just overwhelming.
plus dogs and especially cats can get bacteria on your chinchilla, chins are small animals and your cats claws ever make contact with the chinchilla even as an accident it can be really really bad for them (plus the fact an exotic vet bill is not cheap- it is just not worth the risk!!)
