Am I right in thinking, that this can be plugged into the phono inputs on an integrated amplifier and a turntable can then be plugged into the vacuum tube buffer? So if I understand it correctly I would not waste the phono inputs on the amp, but I would be getting that tube sound!
Next time your at dollar tree they have felt pads in the tool area. Used them before to replace missing pads on feet. I like the orange much better. Got one of these kits a couple years ago. Never got around to putting it together. Do you really think it changes the sound?
All these do is add that tube sound. i myself heard no difference. but with some better gear i might. I just have generic big ass 80's speakers with 80's power amps in a WAY to small room. even with that its a cool kit to have laying around
To turn off, maybe you could pull the voltage dropper resistors and run it to an external switch. that would allow you to turn them on and off. or just don't install the LED's at all
@@qoph1988 I actually added an orange led power light on my kit. Doesn't look half bad if I say so myself. Blends in with the tubes. Check my channel but my camera phone doesn't do it justice.
These tubes break EASILY!!!!! The sockets are TOO TIGHT and crack around the pins. Take a tool and gently loosen the pins in the tube sockets so you don't have to force the tubes in! Even then, the tubes can be easily damaged upon installation. Can't beat the price, but get EXTRA tubes when you order them. It sucks when you order an amp, plug in a tube, it breaks, you wait months for a new one, then break it. I've installed MANY tubes in my 25+ years working on electronics! These sockets and tubes borderline on terrible, but you get what you pay for!
Thats a common issue with these Chinese kits as the overly tight tube sockets. My kit is still holding up good, i dust it off maybe twice a year lol. it doesnt get used much anymore
You can get three or four hundred l.e.d.s for what most people.pay for two at places like radio shack ,at ebay,bang good and Ali express ,.I think I paid about four dollars four about 400 l.e.d.,s .I like you amp.,I like the amber,l.e.d.,a much better good video
