Watch the final from the 2013 International Chinese 8 Ball Masters Pool Final, between Gareth Potts and Chris Melling. This is part 3 of 9, featuring a race to 17 frames to win.
Chinese 8 Ball is a brand new format for cue sports played on 9ft tables, combining snooker style cushions and pockets (which are super tight), with 2 1/4" American Spots and Stripes balls, played to the 8 ball format which is familiar to English 8 ball pool players. The International Chinese 8 Ball Masters was an invitational event. During the four-day Masters, Snooker King Stephen Hendry, led other seven international stars, including German Ralf Souquet, Irish veteran Ken Doherty, 9 ball stars Chris Melling, Darren Appleton, Gareth Potts, Mike Hill and Karen Corr played with 8 Chinese top players.

Gareth is a great player... i have one question, in 8ball, i noticed he always uses a draw shot to break...is that the best way to get a proper break?

Rodrick Shaw It is a good way to get one of the second row balls to go into the side pockets.

subscribe all the way from singapore. just wanna ask you if a snooker cue can be use for playing 8 ball?

***** I am from Singapore too. I wish to purchase this hybrid cue. Is there 13mm tip? I measured my current fancy pool cue and it is 13mm. Otherwise 12mm will be fine too. But my concern is whether a 12mm kamui cue tip is available for purchase or not.

A little confused on foul rules. After Potts' deliberate foul, at 5.39 does Melling have any alternative to playing from where the white lands? If so i'm confused by his shot choice...

In international 8-ball (i.e. not the UK variant), it's not a foul to pocket an opponent's ball as long as you hit your ball first.

@@mixsynth hey can you please explain what happened from 12:30 to 13:40? Gareth didn't pot the 7 ball then why did Melling pot the 7 ball? and what was the intention behind the following shot by Gareth? I am confused.
