Uncle Sam even meekly suggested that it is an international trade violation. Really? "We don’t want your garbage anymore" should be taken up with the WTO? Maybe the West ought to force the Chinese to buy illegal, banned opium again, like it did for 110 years, until communist liberation in 1949. Should that be a WTO case too? The West’s externalization of deleterious and deadly production costs is the logic of capitalism.

Jeff, I agree wholeheartedly with you, save for the muslim issue. I live in a muslim-majority country and can tell you in no uncertain terms that they DO try to get you due to the innate belief that infidels need to be under their subjugation according to the holy book.

All three monotheistic religions have similar expansionist, evangelical tendencies. The Jewish Torah states that non-believers deserve to be exterminated and their resources stolen by Jews. The Christian Old Testament is 90% the same as the Torah. The Koran also says that those outside these three religions are infidels.

I beg to differ, respectfully. I admit I am not familiar about the Torah although I am quite familiar with the Old Testament. But I am telling you for a fact that non-moslems are considered infidels and 'dhimmi' and therefore can be subjugated - I live in such an environment where I am constantly reminded to be thankful that I am allowed to exist 'peacefully'. I am not saying that all moslems behave that way, but from my experience living in a moslem-majority country (gosh, only slightly over 50% majority!), we are constantly told not to question their 'special rights'.

Each particular country has its own history, but not all Muslim majority nations are the same, and not all countries with large populations of Muslims are Muslim majority. I don't think Islam as such is inherently more imperialist than any other religion, instead certain classes of rulers in these nations are more imperialist than others.
