I have one of these growing at my house and far Northwest Georgia I'm close to Tennessee it has dipped below zero here it did take a hit from the cold but it recovered the next following year
And don't plant them under power lines! It's insane how many people plant palms under power lines and wonder why they have to be removed when they grow into the lines 🤦♂️
UF considers them 'potentially' invasive in South & Central Florida. However, they are a staple of the palm growing trade and we've not seen indication of problems in our region.
