i would have added sichuan pepper, by the way thank you was looking for this recipe for long what i was missing was choosing beans and first fry.. can i use corn starch for it be more crispy?
@@hellolisalin The thinner beans probably work well in the dish, but older types of "heirloom" snap beans are not tough when the beans start to swell, and are very good tasting. The toughness has been bred into modern beans so they can be machine picked.
I am obsessed with these green beans when I go out to eat, and now I know how to make them. Tried the recipe out tonight and I never knew it was this simple!
No i am too! And I’ve tried boiling first then sautéed in butter. I’ve tried pan frying. They have NEVER turned out the way I wanted. I’m literally so stoked. You’ve just made my food year! lol 😆 thank you ❤
Thank you! I’m a (retired) professionally-trained chef; there were sections on Asian cooking in culinary school, but those classes were so long ago, and I’m afraid much of the finer points I learned were lost simply because I didn’t use them frequently enough. Now that I only cook what I want to- IOW, I only cook what I want to EAT- I’ve been desperate for a good Chinese Garlic Green Beans recipe! I’ve made several attempts on my own, and while they’ve been good… enough, I haven’t been able to get my green beans to be GREAT! For the first time, I asked The Googles for a recipe and clicked on yours first because I can tell by the pictures that this is exactly what I’ve been looking for. Jeez- I’m gonna stop typing and start flash-frying! Thanks again!
Lawrey’s Granulated garlic with parsley flakes is my go to for everything from fish to steak to stirfry such as this. Great recipe! I hope your mom is doing well. Give her my love and a great big Sicilian hug. 💞😘
I made this recipie 4 days ago and added crushed walnuts with it and it tasted so good and I'm making it again tonight, and bonus points because it's vegan!
This is the best recipe and I have tried about 7 different video. Your mom is the GOAT. My kids love when I make this dish. I’m Cooking it AGAIN tonight so I thought I’d leave a comment this time. Thank you. You’re the best. Love this video.
Yes yes yes!!!!🤗😁 I’ve been looking for an authentic recipe for these green beans!!😋 i order this dish at every Chinese restaurant and I never knew how to make it myself. Thanks so much Lisa!!😁
My Italian family would love this recipe........we baked the g beans with EVOO and a coating of bread crumbs, Romano cheese and black pepper. Usually served with roast chicken.
absolutely love this recipe , just had this one for my lunch today and it was delicious and I thank you for sharing your time and talents for cooking.North Carolina,USA
A favorite dim sum restaurant of mine in my city makes these garlic green beans and they are one of my favorite dishes! SO delicious! I think I'll have a better chance at replicating the recipe by going off of mama Lins method. THANK YOU for sharing this!! Love your channel and your videos. XX
I tried this instantly. Fried the beans for like 2 mins. Didn't have garlic salt or chilli flakes instead had some Schezwan sauce. Used just a pinch. My father loved it. 🤗
💚💚This is just what I was looking for. I just harvested a big bunch of green beans from my garden. I can see from your page we have similar tastes. I love to cook and make RU-vid videos like your I hope we can learn more from each other. Thank you for your inspiration for tonight’s dinner!
These are the best and will convert any picky veggie eater. In my early college foodhall days, on the rare occasions they served these, I would exclusively fill my plate with only this. Then go back for seconds and thirds. Good times.
Fantastic! I am so going to try this as is. The moisture in the beans prevents the oil from penetrating so this technique is solid. I must ask though...has anyone tried to use soy and oyster sauce in place of the lowerys garlic salt? Should literally provide the same flavor profile but using different items.
Thank you so much! I have been trying to figure out how to make these beans at home because they are so good at the Chinese restaurant but I've never been able to quite get it right at home.
For those who have a spot to grow, grow asparagus beans which are sometimes called yard long beans. They are climbing beans and they can get really long. I like mine best a bit smaller, maybe a foot or so long before the bean bulge gets noticable. Try this with those! Yum!
Thank you for sharing this recipe! These are my all time favorite dish to get along with teriyaki chicken skewers from our local restaurant! It’s good to know how to make them now, in case the pandemic causes a shut down again. ☹️ I was craving these green beans all summer but had no idea how to cook them and our restaurant was closed! 😭💔 Bless you both!!💜
These are my favorite green beans. I always went back for extra when I went to the buffet along with the mushrooms. Never knew how they were cooked and I sat there trying to figure it out. I'm so trying this when I get fresh green beans. Is the same way to do the mushrooms?? Can you do a video for that also please?? I could live on green beans and mushrooms, these are my fave vegetables. ☺️ Ty
I'm definitely going to give this a try as I love fresh green beans and I love garlic. I usually only steam my veg with nothing added. This will make a change.
🥰🥰🥰 Thank you for sharing your food ways. Inspiring. Appreciate your mother's pantry and knowledge on your IG. I'm going to try this green bean recipe as soon as my CSA starts up this year. Also want to try when the local okra is available. Thinking flavors would be yummy buddies.
My favorite at the buffet! Lol! Last time I used a different seasoning garlic salt and it didn’t take as good. But I now bought the same brand that your mom used and will try this dish again. That brand garlic salt is the best!
Delicious green beans!!! I always order these green beans along with spicy potatoes and am glad to see how easy they are to make at home. Love it thank you xd
Immediately after watching this video, I got up from bed and tried the recipe. It was a hit with my four year old! It was soooo good! Thanks for this 😊
I liked the recipe but I had French string beans and Italian chili peppers. I don't know how close I came to the original but it was delicious. Thanks for sharing this wonderful recipe Ciao from Little Italy 🇮🇹 Montréal
