Chinese Military Vehicles Almost Better in Everything than the Western Ones

In August 2023, a relatively obscure Chinese military vehicle was involved in a strange and random act, caught on video and published on a Chinese microblogging website. The 25-second-long publication shows the aftermath of an unlikely car crash involving the VN22 and a small car, somehow on a public highway.
The VN22 had made its debut In September of 2021 before almost vanishing from the public eye. It first appeared during the 13th China Air Show featuring over 450 weapons and equipment items.
Amidst the endless array of new products at such shows, China North Industries Group Corporation Limited or Norinco's creations, regardless of size, are hard to miss. That year, the company's shining star was the introduction of the VN22, a new 6x6 wheeled Armored personnel carrier that looks like it can do whatever.
One of the VN22’s main features is the adoption of a new engine with 800 horsepower. This, combined with an independent suspension system and the design of its hull with mine-resistant armor, achieves a unique balance between mobility, personnel protection, and firepower.
But, amidst the fanfare in China, Western analysts immediately noticed the glaring similarities between this upcoming vehicle and an American-made model used for decades now.
Is Norinco's VN22 Armored vehicle a copycat version of the United States Army Stryker? Or is it a truly Chinese creation with more firepower than the US vehicle might be able to handle?

VN-22 is a 6x6, while Stryker is 8x8. It's not an apples to apples comparison. For one all 8x8 not just the Stryker have better off road capability where two more wheels gives it better traction and stability in uneven terrains. Also higher payload capacity. A fair comparison would be with another 6x6 like Iveco's Guragani or Patria's 6x6 variant. However with 800hp and all round STANAG LVL 4 protection its over engineered for a 6x6. With that kind of weight configuration its better if they have made it into 8x8. One thing for sure the mud would really love this vehicle.

Almost all IFV and similar would succumb to a simply rpg round. So I'd argue, no matter how good the design of the combat vehicle is, it is unlikely to be a deciding factor in a ground battle, but more so on the correct tactics being executed skilfully, bravery of soldiers, combined arms etc
@jvb1232

Thats not true. An RPG has limited armor piercing capabilities. Modern IFV’s and APC’s can take multiple hits from shoulder fired munitions. From the perspective of someone who has owned a Chinese vehicle, I don't think I'm worried at all. I believe the metal they use is something called Chinesium. It's made from almost anything and then painted to look a bit like metal. There's certainly no need to fire a weapon at it, the batteries on my vehicle can just burst into flame with no warning even while just parked up. I think you'd have to be very brave to press the fire button on one of these vehicles - that would involve putting electricity through something that's explosive and trusting their software. I think the real problem with their hardware is they just don't care if it kills the occupants (military vehicle or domestic) because there are billions of others to take their place.

@@jvb1232 You're wrong the Bradley is not very armored at all compared to an mbt and rpg7 was made to penetrate m60 Patton mbt so how the hell would a Bradley stand up to one? I hope you realize the cool geometric plates don't actually make the armor stronger than things with literally more armor.
@jvb1232
@jvb1232 7 месяцев назад
@@off6848 I never said a Bradley has the same armor as a tank but an rpg cant penetrate it. There are hundreds of cases of it. Disable sure, But not destroy it.

The benefits of having a plan that spans 50 years and is focused on and executed with initiative and enthusiasm, compared to a plan that spans MAYBE 3 years & then gets scrapped when the next election rolls around (I'm all for democracy, but I don't think we are practicing it the way the instruction manual said we should be?)

All the stryker parts are ordered from US and allied countries. Then these companies order from Chinese companies. It should be no surprise to anyone that China figured out how to put the pieces together. The only differences are that US parts are made to specification and the Chinese parts are made from the finest chinese-iem from the cheapest manufacturers. How many made in china copy cat products have you all bought and make it past the year end without imploding?
