This is a vlog about the first trip of Chinese Muslims to Malaysia, and it is also the first time for my wife to go abroad. Everything is fresh for her. We flew from Beijing to Kuala Lumpur and went to KLCC to eat delicious Malaysian food. What makes us excited is that there are many mosques here. Many girls wear hijabs, and almost all restaurants are halal, all of which are like in a dream. Hope you like our vlog!

The reason why you see a lot of "foreigners" is actually because Malaysians consist of not only Malay people but Chinese and Indians as well who all identify as Malaysians. We have lived together in peace for a long time. But there are also a lot of expats and foreigners from other countries who work here, some come for holiday, others tend to make KL their base because of easy access to other countries. The Grab driver mentioned the cost of living from a perspective of a local. But if you're a foreigner that comes from a country with a strong currency or are earning salary in dollars, then the cost of living in Malaysia is among the cheapest in the world. Just thought I should mention that to you. Ramadan will be starting soon, so you'll get to experience Ramadan and Eid culture here in KL! May Allah protect you both and bless you with an amazing time in Malaysia

Bro, at 35:51 the Indian guy said something to your wife in Hindi which was "Mai thum sai Ma ko malatha hun, khana kalatha hun" - it means in English that "I will introduce you to my Mom and take you out to eat". That was very inappropriate of him to say to your wife and very disrespectful, that is why his friends laughed in the background. You must be very cautious of keeping your wife away from strange men. They were nice to your face, but disrespected you in their own language infront of your face as well. May Allah protect you and your wife from such people, Ameen!

You both are so adorable and surprisingly funny. I feel like giving you so many information to help, but I think it's okay. You both will learn everything along the way. Beijing is a superfast metropolitan. KL is a much more laid back place. This hot weather is actually hotter than normal. Stay hydrated. Everything in a mall is normally double or triple the price than those on the streets. Spend wisely. Most restaurants or f&b outlets in a mall are usually halal. But when on the street you have to be more careful okay. Dont be afraid to ask anyone even the simplest thing okay. Malaysians are very helpful. Enjoy Malaysia!

A mainland Chinese told me, many Chinese tourist love to visit Malaysia. The reason is they are able to converse in Mandarin with the locals , they also had a chance to practice their English. If they felt some difficulty during conversation , they could just switch back to Mandarin instead. Third Malaysian stuff are cheap affordable to all the middle class travelers. So by conclusion Malaysia is considered the lowest difficulty level in the whole world among the mainland.

Not all Malaysian Chinese can speak Mandarin. The ones who can speak or understand it are the ones who went to learn it somewhere, because their Chinese language would be something else like Hokkien or Cantonese, Hakka, Teochew, Fuzhou, Hainanese or Foochow

@@We_Want_It_All well it is actually the opposite, those you mentioned are dialects, and not all Chinese can speak different types of dialects, especially the younger generation. Malaysian Chinese typically converse in Mandarin as they learn basic Chinese (Mandarin) in the school.

The leaf at 40:40 is not for eating. Malay people usually eat with their hand, most restaurant provide handwash basin/sink. Some people also eat with spoon & fork. There are also chinese restaurant where they serve food with chopstick, but the chinese food in chinese restaurant in malaysia is generally not halal because most chinese in malaysia is not muslim. You can bring your own chopstick to restaurant that serve halal food. Most of the muslims are malays, followed by indian muslim (mamak), and small amount of chinese muslim. There are also other indigenous people in Malaysia called orang asli.

Viona reminded me of an elderly auntie wearing hijab at the back alley of Xian. She was so excited to see me, a foreigner wearing hijab. Hahahha. She donned her hijab just like Viona. I still remember she warmly held my hand and chatted away excitedly in Mandarin, which I do not understand. Hahahha

Welcome to Malaysia! I want to say that video is entertaining and hilarious. I like it. Before you fly back home, consider sharing your impressions of Malaysia in a video. It's a great way to capture your experiences, especially since you won't be able to compare or form opinions on Beijing and KL from day one. Here are some tips for your video: Remember to bring your own refillable bottle due to the intense heatwave, as reported in the news. Opt for coloured clothing to stay cooler, as black attire can make you feel hotter and maybe avoid bringing that heavy backpack. Consider purchasing a MyCity Pass for unlimited rides on public transport for three days, which costs RM25 if you find it reasonable. Instead of bringing a whole coconut out may seem odd . you can ask vendors to cut one in half for you to enjoy the juicy meat. Yummy! Enjoy your time in Malaysia and have fun exploring!

The expensive Evian mineral water that you find at the airport is a premium one. Though I really don't know what makes it different with other mineral water in terms of its quality. Besides, you found it at an airport, which makes the price gets even more expensive. Normal mineral water usually cost around RM1.50~RM2.50 at most location in Malaysia.

welcome to malaysia. in malaysia, for halal street food, just go any of to the malay local stalls including burgers, mixed rice, etc. guaranteed halal. for chinese food, you will need to ask/check. mostly non halal but some are (like those pulled noodle / lamian shops or here they are called 'Mi Tarik'). local franchises are mostly halal (eg: secret recipe, marrybrown). for indian food, guaranteed halal are the 'nasi kandar' or mamak restaurants, other indian placs are a hit-or-miss' so you will need to ask/check

Please be aware, that not all people in Malaysia are Malaysian. There are so many foreign workers. Any people who cannot speak Malay or English normally are not Malaysian. For the Malaysian Chinese or Malaysian Indians they do speak Malay and English. You will see a lot of Indonesian, Bangladesh, Filipinos, Vietnamese, and Thailand come to Malaysia to work.

You should try our local Malay dish called Nasi Lemak which are sold in many restaurants around KL. Its probably tastier than what you had earlier at the mall.
