30 years ago, when China started building massive high ways, mega bridges, mega dams, and then HSR….the world just laughed ,saying that China is too poor, has no money or technology to do it, but when China completed some projects, the world kept laughing, and think that, all the projects will collapsed with in months….and now after most of the mega project have completed, over 45000km HSR are in operational , all function well, no issue, no collapsed bridges or high rises… the world are now surprised : how could China done it??? But some are still crisizing like : “China government is wasting money on building all these super systems, because they will never make money, blah blah… Ha ha ha….yes they are right, Chinese government didn’t build these projects for profits, they built it to serve Chinese people.
blah blah blah and its all falling a part slowly ... falling skyscrapers and burning suv's 'bikes , scooters empty cities highways without cars .. china is one big show of failed power ! ................
Hey Lizzy! Thanks for sharing the true side of China,I’m from China, about Chinese safety, I have a story 5 years ago. one day I exit the subway station, a man with bad intentions suddenly rushed up to me and touched my breast, I kicked him in anger and took a video and posted it on weibo, In the evening, the police found my contact information through Weibo, called to inquire about the incident, and drove to pick me up and took me to the police station to make a statement. Finally, the authenticity of the incident was confirmed through my description and monitoring. After identifying the criminal through the pictures, the police wrote back to me the next day and informed me that they had arrested and detained the criminal, and I did not even call the police on my own initiative. So I think the cameras in China are not to spy on people, but to better protect us. China is really a very safe country! Thanks again for the video!
Thank you for your video. It’s really accurate. I am Taiwanese, and our government often tells us that everything about China is terrible and horrible. If people in Taiwan want to visit China, we are given an orange alert warning, suggesting that it’s better not to go there. However, I went to Shanghai last week, and I didn’t encounter any unfriendly Chinese people when they found out where I was from. It’s truly a wonderful city.
*_Thank you very much , Lizzy to let us know the truth. We have been fooled by BBC for a long time. In summer, I would come to visit China. Merci again !!!_*
You are welcome to visit China , hope you will enjoy the journey in China , If you come to kunming at Jul or Aug which the season of 野生菌(wild mushroom),it is very Very tasty.
I’m just back from 1 month travelling around China and I have to say I was mightily impressed with their infrastructure. Trains, roads, tunnels and bridges all very impressive. Took a number of HST’s and the fastest from Chengdu to Chongqing was moving at 350 kph and very quiet and smooth. Very impressive. Also China is very safe which is probably down to the cctv everywhere. Some people don’t like it but if you’re not doing anything you’re not supposed to, I don’t have a problem with it.
@@JohnSmith-sm7ez what is not right, what is lying? Aren't you in a place that claims freedom so why can't you accept different voices? You contradict yourself and hit yourself in the face? So think for yourself: You've been fooled too much by your “perfect” government and media, fool...Open your eyes to the real world!
Thank you for your video! I just subscribed your channel and put a thumb up to you. Actually, from my point of view, me, as a Hong Kong people, one of a citizen from my beloved China, really don't want US or foreign politicians slander against our city and country. We never disturb them, but how come they always behave like that in political way? We love all people in the world. That's what I know of our country: the china government. 希望妳繼續努力! Blessing from Hong Kong, China
It's quite simple: New York's economy is not tied to its population, so there is no real urgency to ensure the comfort of its people. The focus is on keeping the top 1% happy and the stock exchange running.
Perhaps its about freedom for people to be themselves and live according to their means in NYC. After all, they even subsidize aliens in new york. China? perhaps people disappear from the streets and only those of able body and sound minds can afford to live there. Those who don't like NYC can certainly leave. Its certainly not the 'richest city' by any stretch of the imagination, people have avoided NYC for decades.
Lizzy, I love your videos. I watch them on my TV screen hence I give you a thumbs up only but no comments. I'm so tired of the lies about China. Your videos are a godsend. From South Africa.
oh, I am from Kunning. im so happy to watching this video. I usually Dianci or Expo by line5 in Kunming. Thank you Lizzy take this video. its make so many people to know my hometown Kunming. Actully if you like spicy food, Kunming will be give you a lot of surprise. welcome to my hometown.
A couple of weeks ago I returned from China, it was my first visit, I was impressed by the infrastructure, the roads, the subway, the train, the malls, everything is wonderful, a great country to visit, thank you for your video.
America and NYC have very high GDP but the wealth is concentrated in the pockets of a very few. The other 98% are barely making it - or not making it. China, being socialist, tries to take care of everyone, and they have done a great job!
Yes, except for the thousands of poor migrant workers from the countryside that I see spitting on the street everyday, even here in Shanghai. China is one the most capitalist countries I have seen coming from Denmark.
I met a US student studying Chinese in China. After two years, he told me he would convince his mom to drink warm water because "it is really good to your health".
Actually there's no any safe place in China. Even you don't go to night market, those APPs will also make you to order a lot of takeaways. In this country, you never consider about reducing weight.
Kunming is a third-tier city in China. First-tier cities: Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Hong Kong, second-tier cities: Nanjing, Hangzhou, Wuhan, Chongqing, Chengdu, Tianjin, etc.
Well, its been running 24/7/365 for 120 years. And unlike China subways, American subways don't drown its customers, so that's gotta be worth something.
I'm American and lived in Chongqing and Hong Kong for a couple of months. New York's MTA system is one attribute of a much larger cultural problem. The US has the money and resources to have nice things but too often public transit isn't consistently funded as well as it should be. Additionally, maintenance/repairs/upgrades are heavily reliant on contractors, so the costs of doing these are much greater than they would be if agencies did it on their own. Lastly, Americans have a tendency to build and let things fall into disrepair with little maintenance, to the point where it would be cheaper to demolish and rebuild again. I'm happy to see you enjoying yourself, I'm currently in SE Asia but would like to work in China long term!
Kunming is more laid back, good food, good people, and fantastic scenery. Transport in Kunming is world class. Safe, clean and efficient. Visit London or New York, you understand my views. @@richiemunz8573
I am living in Shanghai and just lived in Beijing during former more than 10 years. I must admit the living cost of Beijing and Shanghai is far expensive than the city like Kun ming. If you retied and live in Kun ming. It is a common sense that you will enjoy your retired life far better than living in Beijing and Shanghai. But for working populations, there are more chance you can find in Beijing and Shanghai. Sometimes we have to make a choice, just like many people living in LA and NY.
@@babybibil4556 A jungled society with zombies in many major cities coast to coast. I wondered how the people tolerated that year in year out. Thanks God I left that hole two decades ago.
Twenty-five years ago, I've a co-worker friend from Kumming in the US and he told me that he'll be going home after he made enough money. I told him that China was so poor and that many Chinese would risk their lives just to come to the States. He told me China was much better than the US but I laughed and said to him that he was nuts. True enough, he returned to China after five years in the States even though he has a green card. Now I know why he left and I left too but not to China, back home to Malaysia.
@@brianliew5901 😀😀The world is a beautiful place but I do think Asia is the most peaceful place to live. I have been living in Australia for 20 years but never thought of changing my passport, not that I don’t love Australia, it’s just I know deep down, China is the place I belong to. Malaysia is a beautiful country!
@@huiqinjinxi4514 When you reached a certain age say about 50 which by the time your kids are grown up and you'll long for the kind of life when you were growing up. The West especially the States was exciting when one was young but not for those past their primes. Furthermore the taxes in the States are simply ridiculous and mind boggling not to mention the extremely high crime rate. I'll chose any Asian country in the Far East except for N. Korea over the US any day.
I've been on Chinese bullet trains. Really nice. I'm flying to NYC in a couple weeks for my Chinese visa. Doing Uber. LOL And no, I wasn't shocked about the China railway system. Hahaha. And I don't go to New York City as a tourist. And no, most people don't think NYC is the best American city. Going to China this fall, maybe even visit Kunming in Yunnan Province.
Lol, you listening to too much western lies. I can guess you don't travel much to witness the facts. Yes I can say that because I have traveled the world including every large city in all and every states in my country USA. Leave politics alone and compare from facts.
Hello there, I am from 🇸🇬 Singapore. Your video is awesome, China will keep improving itself, for world economy and mankind, where the West only thinks for himself (government’s fund are first given to elections, military, etc) I will pray for the west 🙏🏻
You should visit China, it's beautiful, especially the nature, I've been to China 4 times in the last 10 months, I am flying back there next week to visit Guilin. So much to see and explore there. The REAL China is not the China the western media told us. We've been fed with too much LIES from the western media and also from the mouth of those racist airhead U.S politicians.
I am in china now. Every thing has been done to make the population happy. All details have its importance here. No fuel cars. All electric, no traffic jam, no polution, people ride bicycle, people stay in good health , good food every where, no frustration, people are kind, fully secured, clean, its mind blowing. I can spend the rest of my life here.
Kunming produces 70% of the flowers in China. My friends and I often joke that Kunming sends 70% of the romance to China every day, and 30% of the romance is directly planted in Kunming, so Kunming is a romantic city!🎉🎉🎉
Usa should prioritise caring for their citizens remove homelessness drug addiction and start doing refurbishment and maintenance of infrastructure and mind his own business
The United States is becoming ignorant and ignorant, just like China 150 years ago. At that time, China was rich and stable, so it disdained to see what was really changing in the world, and what it brought was the next 100 years.😢😢😢
Some may argue that comparing a brand-new facility to an older one, unfair this unfair that. The actual reality is that Anglo-Saxon media often criticizes China's government, labeling it as dictatorial and inhumane. Yet, can any country point to a facility built primarily for its citizens with such high efficiency? The answer is likely none. I live in Australia, where democracy is touted as giving voice to the people and prioritizing their needs. However, it often serves the interests of a select few, creating an illusion of participation rather than true democracy. And another interesting thing I lately heart, many Americans talk about decentralized systems in blockchain, no against new technology, but the truth is, without a strong centralized system, progress is difficult. Simply voting every day without decisive action leads nowhere.
@@Mutineer9 I have been to Moscow, their metro is different story, Its deep underground tunnels and stations were built with the capability to provide protection to the city's residents in case of a nuclear attack, maybe old but amazing!
I'm from USA and have lived all over including NY. I still have friends that live there. Yes, many people still daily ride the subway and that's because they don't have a choice !! 😂😂 I don't ride it because i can afford not to but why should it be that way? Having a safe choice is a public tax payers rights. Many companies don't provide parking , average parking cost at least $50/day if you are lucky. And driving depending on the time can take you hours. Yes, many cities in the states have horrible transit system. Some better but not enough. And yes i can say that because i have been to every large city in every state in the USA multiple times. 😊😊 I pay alot of taxes but i'm so glad my government funds trillions of $$ to instigate and help coutries fight wars. NOT !!!!! Thank you for being honest and i can't argue with your facts. Anyone arguing about this just knows they look foolish.
The first time I rode the metro train in Los Angeles, I literally cried out, "Why is this so slow? Slower than Beijing 's number 13 lightrail train? " A boy and girl smiled and said nothing. I could ride my mountain bike and go faster than this thing.
@@artcorner1298 At least you were lucky getting to your destination safely. It's always a thought when you decide to travel on the public transit there.
Thanks Lizzy for the great videos. I am a Singaporean of Chinese descent. I hate videos that show Chinese metro/subway stations simply because I always believe we have the best Metro system in the world, here in Singapore. Just watch RU-vid channels on our subway, which we called the MRT system. I hate you, Lizzy for showing Chinese metro; they are ultra-modern and futuristic. I love the ticketless face scanning gantry, we don't have it here. But you are the cutest foreign lady RU-vidr in China.
