Have used Jimmy for a while and your right ithat a smaller amount works fine. this works great with evaoprated milk too, i was going down the thai route with CC milk previously and this is a good steer back to chinese (love and cook thai also). This is the best satay sauce recipe i have tasted and the ground nuts knock it up a notch too if you can be bothered. Love it, big thanks.. 🙂
I've used Jimmy's sate sauce for a while now: less is better, as you say otherwise it is overpowing everything else in the dish. It makes a brilliant dish. I've use it for chicken, prawns, both a normal dish and the satay skewers. Brilliant product.
Jimmys is the best. Most British Chinese takeaways/restaurants use it. My wife (Hong Kong Chinese) introduced me to it over 30 years ago. There’s always a jar in our fridge. I’ll give this a go, thanks Rik😊
Australian here. Spotted this on the shelf at my corner asian store. Will give it a go. Plan to use crunchy peanut butter, so just s few nuts. And coconut milk instead of evaporated milk. As well as a couple of stevia tablets disolved in water instead of sugar, should it need it. Keep it somewhat keto friendly.
Made it exactly as you did but I just wanted a little more zing in there…..a tablespoon of sweet chilli sauce instead of the sugar & wow!! Brilliant recipe thank you.
Well what can I say....since my local restrant closed I've been trying to replicate there satay beef with little success. And watched many vids.i new about Jimmy's and tried it many times.not that good initially. Some I watched just put a spoon full in on its own as i was.that was the big mistake Then watched your vid,for me the key thing was the peanut butter no extra ground nuts just the butter and well I used oat milk. What a difference. Would say almost 100% ,just need to tame it down a little say half to three quarters of desert spoon of Jimmy's. Thanks buddy well done.im on the right track now....
@@kimmyplush Its easy simple and delivers the best taste quickly - I'll accept "bloody brilliant" - No one else makes it this way - they are missing out for sure. Best, Rik
I bought the wrong satay sauce and it was Cocks brand Thai satay . Extremely disgusting and smells so bad . It’s red in color because of the red curry . And it’s more oil than the sauce . I will buy the Chinese version next time
