All that matters about this is that they tried their best and i believe that a story (correct me if I'm wrong) of modern Chinese soldiers in a WW2 scenario is a great plot and the fact that they were using weaponry of that era indicates that they possibly lost their weapons or had to leave them behind for there was no/not enough ammo for them or were difficult to maintain

This isn't true, the chinese soldier would have talking around 7 minutes while in a runway in battle, and defeat more japanese soldier around 400000 in 5 minutes straight just like the rest of the movie
