@@Enjoyer.762 No he's not. The AR fans argue that the AK is not accurate enough, regardless of who is shooting it because of the rifle itself being too inaccurate, and rob has now demonstrated that the rifle is indeed accurate enough for an infantryman's longer than average shots.
@@Gmny1MOAyou’d be surprised how much of it is ammunition related. I handload and my handloads are 3x more accurate in any AK I’ve tried (American, Russian, Serbian, Polish, and Romanian) than the com bloc steel cased crap. Even in rattle trap guns it helps immensely. They aren’t fancy reloads either, brass isn’t sorted, basic single stage press, Lee powder measure, cheap primers.
@@Enjoyer.762 Fear the govt like you would fear a rattlesnake. That means don't be so terrified of it that you stop thinking clearly and go into the type of paralysis that happens when the unfit go into battle.
I had a chance to try my Zastava M70 at a sniper range in Czech republic that had dry sandy ground - you could spot all the hits and misses. With my rifle the hard barrier was at around 510 meters - up to that distance i was still able to get the majority of rounds into the target. But then i think the 7.62x39 went into transonic range because i was unable to hit the target set up at 520 meters. I kept my point of aim steady on the center of the target but my shots were going 2 meters to the left, then 1 meter to high, next one was half a meter left, then too low, then too high again - it look like shooting with a shotgun. So after that i didnt even try to push it further but i bet it can be done with some heavier ammo with better BC that could remain stable in the transonic range...
Ziga, you are making very good point. One has to be careful with 7.62x39, because based on the weather, and environmentals, it's easy to start dipping into the transonic range with it. Also, what I have noticed, Covid era ammo kind of sucks...I have some under powered batches...
I second the ZPAP request, would love to see what it does in capable hands, I already know what it does in the hands of a jelly-armed sluggard Jesus Christ is KING!
Also penetration, through heavy dense brush, or multiple barriers like drywall in a house, the 762x39 will go right through while the 223 or 556 will veer off. Unless you're rocking 77grn out of a 16-20" barrel...
Try doing a challenge between your nicest built Ak against a poorly built one to see the difference between the accuracy you can get out of them. Maybe discuss a little on technique of long range shooting as well.
Seeing a Robski-style shoot would be fun and informative! Not to steal Rob's thunder--he and 9 Hole Reviews both do great work that complement each other--but Henry and Josh did a similar comparison a few years back. You can find the video in their channel archives.
For context, the Soviet/Russian standard for AK and SKS accuracy is a 4 shot group from the prone supported position no larger than 15cm (5.9 inches) at 100m (110 yards). For comparison, the largest acceptable 5 shot group to attain the maximum score from the prone for a C7 rifle (Canadian M16 variant) is 15cm at 100m as per the C7 PWT 1.
@@cw9949 I would bet your AR is a sufficiently tricked-out range toy compared to what is basically a rack-grade AKM. Rack-grade M4/M-4gerys are also nothing special.
There were reports of a foreign fighter in Ukraine early last year making hits at 500-700m with a thermal scope on a suppressed 47. He was working as a sniper within the Bachkmut area.
I would like to see the Chinese stamped receiver one next to know the difference in accuracy between the 2 different types of receivers from the same manufacturer
Great shooting Rob. I bought this rifle a year ago. I have been pleased with it. Zastava makes a fine rifle. I do however wish their 5.56 rifle would have been a M70 in 5 55 versus the 18.2 inch barrel M90. I prefer the lighter rifle. Thanks for the videos. I learn a lot from them.
After watching your exploits for mor than 5 years this still proves the capability of the standard AK platform. I like the 7.62 x 39 round. I have a mini30, an S&W AR with a 7.62x39 upper, and a Century Arms AK. All have iron sites. I am still fascinated at how good the AK can be.
Great shooting Rob. You make it look easy and I'm sure its not. Maybe you could make a video helping us less skilled shooters improve our abilities. As for other AK manufactures to show case, possibly the Zastava M70 or WBP or PSA or WASR or other commonly available AK's.
I purchased one with no rail and blonde wood let me tell u it is a marvelous peice for any collection only thing I've found negative so far is circle10 waffle mags r tight bit still work 💯💪
Thanks for this. A much-needed demo of the older Russian and Chinese combat philosophy of "perfect is the enemy of good enough." Note: I think this has changed somewhat as their logistics capabilities have started to approach Western standards. That said, how about a Galil test (sorry if you've done it and I've missed it!).
Out standing...Case Closed !!! I would love to see you use an RPK in the challenge...Ans Specifically A Romanian AES-10b... I would also like to see a new T-shirt in the store..with my favorite quote of Yours..."Do not blame Rifle for Your personal Failures !!! " Is it me?or do you seem to get better with time?
I’d ask you to do that with a Zastava M70 ZPAP but I believe you already did that at the end of your 5K test on that rifle. But it would be cool to see you do it again!
Rob, I'd like to see how you could do with a set of rear-mounted Tech-Sights on that rifle. Back in 1970 at Fort Jackson BCT we qualled with the M16-A2 out to 500 yards with just iron sights. I don't know if I could still do it with my MAC-90 and it's Tech Sights today ... but back in the day I'm certain I could. But they were still teaching rifle marksmanship back then.
*What a great looking AK, and with a bayonet; Very Cool!* *Wish I had one like that.* *The internet is always F O S, unless we come to you to "Stop The Bull$#!T".* *Proving once again; AK irons work just fine for what they're designed to do.* 💥💥💥💯%
I bought a BFT-47 from Century Arms, my first. You did a couple of episodes on one a while back, It would be interesting to see what that could do in the hands of someone more skilled.
Can you imagine how many casualties we would have taken in our last few wars if the bad guys actually used their AK sights instead of spraying and praying to Allah?
Well, we have lost every war since the 40s as they are fabricated to be unwinnable on purpose. Cuz it aint about liberating, it's about cash, money, and dominance.
The Norinco is totally capable to make a 500 yard shot IF you can see the target. The 87s makes that shot a little eaiser with the longer barrel. Norinco are Very fine AKs, I bought my first 56s in 84'
I think the premiere ak47 imported at any time was the Arsenal SGL21-61. Maybe even an SGL 94 with the side folding stock. Lets see an SGL 21/AK103 with irons at the same distance. I have the PA 3x micro with the RS Regulate rear biased mount on my SGL21-61 and its no problem at all to hit at 300M.
Nice shooting Rob, was that a Poly Tech Legend retrofitted with spiked bayonet(from the pics I've seen they didn't come from the factory like that), or a Norinco milled MAK-90 modded to resemble a Type 56?
Can someone do better.... LOL I think Rob and his skills have 99.9 % of AK owners/ users beat on this one. Great job, how much different would stamped Chinese AK perform Mak90 or Pre ban either one? Great Job Rob!
