Actually, the grilled pork melon bread exists in Cantonese/Hong Kong dim sum. That version is known in Cantonese as “cha siu bo lo bao” or “char siu pineapple bun.” (叉燒菠蘿包)In some places, there’s also a variant called “noble concubine bun” (貴妃包)
thank you for teaching me! ! It has different names in different places😳This grilled pork melon bread was so delicious that I want to eat it again! ! I just learned that they don't say "melon bread" in Cantonese. I'm glad that my knowledge has increased. Thank you 🙏🏻
@@DigDigJAPAN haha! That’s right - the Cantonese style “melon bread” is “pineapple bun” because the crust looks like the bumpy outside of a pineapple 🍍 Please try it if you have the chance! Some people like to eat it with a slice of butter sandwiched in between too
I've been to a few Chinatowns in the USA: San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York and Chicago. They all have great food. I like to just look at all the beautiful items. The best Chinese food I've ever had was in Mexico.
