Wan Han and Zhang Na who danced disrespectfully in front of the Kota Kinabalu city mosque have been fined RM25 each. During mitigation at the court, both of them whom were unrepresented, urged for a lenient sentence as they did not know what they did was wrong.

Regardless the background was a mosque, church, temple, school or even a normal house. Anyone (local or tourist) should have known that dancing on top of the concrete fence in a public place is just disrespectful and childish. There is no need of any signage to tell public how to behave properly.

I've seen bollywood movies of people dancing in temples. Dancing has always been something positive. People find it disrespectful because they have the misconception that dancing = making fun of something. It's not. People danced to express joy. They had no ill-intentions. They danced because they're happy to be there. They saw a nice architecture building, admire it and danced to express their happiness being there. People shouldn't always look at things negatively. Everyone should learn to see the positive side of things.
